So is Joe Biden and the CDC and the Fauci clown, powerless to overrule the judge who says people no longer have to wear masks? Close to 30 states in the US are seeing surges and new variants. How do cruise ships handle passengers who test positive for Covid? They secretly fly them back to their home destination. So if they board a flight and no one is wearing masks..,

John says...

In other words, keep your eyes on them, him especially!’

John says...

Why are smaller-population family islands that haw few visitors still required to wear masks? Why you can’t schools anf most of life on these islands return to normal? Most of our tourists population is coming from areas where there are new surges and new variants. Why isn’t the Minister/Ministry of health warning or advising Bahamians who come on n contact with these visitors to continue to wear protect themselves: wear masks, social distance and sanitize. And those Bahamians who travel outside the country and especially to these areas with increasing Covid cases. Mind that everything you bring back is not in your suitcase.

Isn’t this a case of the Tribune killing the messenger (Rodney Moncur) rather than spreading or even hearing the message? There’s more than just Rodney Moncur opposed to the marital rape law. And whilst The Tribune may want demonize Moncur for his views, what right does government have to finger and fondle the laws of God? This habit of pulling people Dow and stripping them of clothes when they seek public office is counterproductive. There are many controversies the Tribune has been embroiled in and it’s staff as well. Nd sometimes one may feel the need to boycott the newspaper. In fact a notorious politician burnt copies of the Tribune on more than one occasion. But bet you me, that politician and many others who, at some time or other, felt they have been slighted or maligned by the journal. And except for its opposition to Rodney Moncur’s appointment, what new ideas and suggestions have been put forward by the journal to fight thes murders especially and crime on the whole

John says...

So it was Minnis who raised the question of Rodney Moncur being hired by government. Minnis is still a sour pus because he knows it was Rodney Moncur, who almost single handedly, caused the Minnis government to be totally swept from office. Minnis banned Rodney Moncur to holding high office in the FNM and now Minnis is being treated like ‘the thief who came in from the cold’. By the very same FNM. What a difference an election makes.
.
But understand Rodney Moncur’s appointment is not in law enforcement. It is with community efforts to stem crime and violence in communities. And whilst his appointment may require him to work hand -in- hand with the police, he is not a law enforcement officer per se. . And yes his appointment may be an extension/revival of Urban Renewal but it was working. The results of the little monies government spent on Urban Renewal reaped far more results than Marvin Dames spent on drones, police vehicles and video cameras. And there’s nothing against outfitting the police and giving them proper funding.

But police cannot babysit communities 24 hours a day. And it has been president proven that communities that have more community activities and social involvement have less crime and less violence. Teach Bahamians how to become our brothers keepers again.
.

John says...

The system is skewed against Bahamians. Our forefathers (at least Black Bahamians) spent 400 years in the chains of slavery and under the brutality of it to inherit this land called Bahamas. Eventually these young people will come into the knowledge that their birthright is being frittered away. And this responsible will have to be accountable. The riches of the wicked are stored up for the righteous. Believe that!

PS Answer this question: How do you think a young man feels when he hear about the millions and millions of people who come The Bahamas to have a good time. He sees the lights and fireworks at Atlantis and Bah Mar and sees the dozens of cruise ships in the harbor. Yet the young men cannot even get a job or even food to eat. Fix it Brave. Any social scientist or behavioral expert will tell you that when an individual can’t provide basic essentials for himself like food, clothing and shelter , he is likely to turn antisocial and aggressive towards society. Someone living a good and productive life does not necessarily want to tote an illegal weapon much less kill someone.

Why do so many see the need to bear arms. Illegally even? To protect themselves? This crime infestation and these killings are NOT the problem! They are symptoms of the problem. The police started assaulting young men from back in the 1970’s, ‘80’s 90’s up to now. Of every five men attacked and beaten by the police, Four were innocent. Some were dressed in uniform, clearly an indication that they were either going to or coming from work. Some had their vehicles stopped and searched on desolated roads , seats removed and personal items likes caps, cell phones, jewelry and even cash stolen. And many were traumatized to the point that they quit thei jobs and refused to leave their neighborhoods. Since they no longer had jobs they eventually turned to crime. Crime requires protection. Illegal weapons are seen as protection. Even today many believe the police are overly aggressive. A police stop resulting in an unnecessary shooting is almost as bad as the out-of-control shootings in the country. There must be a restoration. Innocent people must be able to move freely around the country without being harassed by police. Confidence must be restored in the police and policing such that communities support the police again and not go to war again. There are many upright, intelligent, educated and dedicated policemen onboard the force. But rouge officers must be wed out. Many people , young men as well, live on the internet. Cyber space is not always reality. And do they mimic what they see on the internet. These will be the most difficult ones to reach and change their mindset. Parents who buy their children video games like ‘grand theft auto’ and other crime oriented games or those loaded with violence are contributing to the problem. And NO it’s not only a game.! When children ( or grown men) spend half their days playing games that are crime ridden or involve shooting policemen and innocent citizens it is programming these individuals. And eventually they channel what they are doing in the games into what they go out and do in real life. They become predators. It would be interesting, if not shocking, to interview some of these young killers and find out the motive for their killings. Many may say, ‘I don’t know.. it was just something I felt I had to do.! ‘. ‘We wrestle not against flesh and blood …’. You must change the mindset of these people at an early age.. years before the policemen have to come scoop up a dead body or count spent shells on someone’s driveway or in the middle of the road, under the sun or in the dark of night. This country is in the third or fourth generation of these unabated killings. New killers, different victims? So where does tge failure lie?

Every homeowner should invest in a 200 amp solar panel. A deep cell battery and an inverter. When the sh!t hits the fan at least you want to have basic lights. Speaking of fans there are also some very efficient fans that can be recharged with electricity or solar. And can also be solar powered during daylight. The weather seems unstable this year and storms knock out power.

Only idiots would take Covid vaccines at this juncture. Unless it is required for travel, employment or other matter. At least in This country. The reason being there are little cases of the virus in the country. And this is the longest the country bay the world , had grown me without a new wave since the pandemic began. And since the vaccines only last for six months and since and new waves are likely to be new strains or variants, why not give the body a rest? Why put old wine in new skins?
