Well there’s been over 100 plus years of gross inequality for Blacks in the US and despite accomplishments and achievements, not to mention slavery and what’s going on in Haiti. Blacks have never been treated as equal or full US citizens. Bahamian law was drafted under the premise that most children would be born in wedlock and that the father was the head of the household and would be the determining factor in the nationality of their children. In this new age where in some countries more than half the marriages end in divorce and a similar number of children are being born outside of marriages then there may need to be some revisions to the nationality law. Then the conflict arises; who takes precedence. If the father wants the child to be one nationality and the mother wants another nationality. Questions has arisen about this when a number of Bahamian women ( some married) were leaving The Bahamas and their husbands and going to Canada with minor children and allegedly getting Canadian citizenship for themselves and the children without the father’s knowledge or permission. So it may be a can of worms that may need to be opened but be prepared for the stink.

The mystery of some drivers having Bahamian drivers’s licenses but can’t speak any English. A lot of what is perceived to be road rage is actually bad driving by persons who obviously rook driving classes. These small Japanese vehicles are very speedy. Especially the Cubes. And if an inexperienced ( or panicked) driver locks the brake at a high rate of speed, the vehicle will most likely launch forward and cause an accident. You are driving slow on some roads if you are doing 40 mph. Some roads are near impossible for pedestrians to cross because of the high rate of speed vehicles be traveling at. When you approach a roundabout or intersection and the vehicle behind you starts blowing their horn, Thisbis really a traffic offense and besides being annoying, it causes some drivers to panic.

Well tge understanding from other quarters is that the GBPA never disputed the claim. Their defense was that government never demanded the funds before. Well time for the free picnic to end. And if government paid an accounting agency to prepare the claim it would be senseless for the GBPA not to have been presented with a copy.

Wasn’t this press release tagged with ‘foul play is not suspected at this time.’

Yes put something in the Public Treasury , then disappear.

Don’t forget Minnis allowed the stadium to just sit there, unbothered. Was paying the contractors hundreds of thousands of dollars for their equipment sitting idle for over three years.

Well it is tamarind ‘switch, not tamarind ‘tree’. That’s when she would put several tender branches together to make the switch. Those branches had a way of wrapping themselves around your legs or arms and leaving welts that itched for days. But unlike getting beaten with a ‘tree’ as in the days of slavery. They left no permanent injury. And we were not allowed to shop at the Chinese. Even though they may have been closer or cheaper there was the stigma of buying food or grocery from the Chinese. And if you were caught going there when you were sent elsewhere, that called for more tamarind switches.

Not at all knocking sports and the sporting events or even the minister ( at this time). No amount of money ( ok within limits) government spends on youth, sports and community development is enough considering the alternatives young people are faced with and considering the great successes this country has been achieving in all levels of sports. And from all accounts there’s no need to doubt the credibility of the minister. Maybe he is in too deep with his lack of experience and these large budgets and got taken advantage of?

** “Every dollar that was allocated or budgeted for those games was received and spent appropriately,” he said.**. Unless Mario Bowleg is first willing to prove that the events were not over budgeted by millions of dollars, someone should advise him to remain quiet until the appropriate time. Secondly when your mummy used to send you to the store with $20 and tell you to only spend $10, she ain’t want hear what you spent the other $10 on, she wann know why you spent it without her permission? So why did you spend millions of the people’s money without permission?

There are several restaurants and pubs in the area where Minnis said the incident occurred. And they are known to attract non Bahamians and persons with slurred British accents. Not only are they known for ‘pulling out’ of the parking lots in front of oncoming traffic, but some park on sidewalks with part of their vehicles jutting out into the round about. And yes, it’s a bloody nuisance and a hazard trying to navigate the parked vehicle especially when there is another vehicle driving on the side of you. How they allowed these businesses to open with inadequate parking?
