The point is if one was to drive through the Kentucky-West Virginia area, there are two graveyards, one filled with Hatfields and the other McCoys. Today the graveyards are being filled with pro-vaccinated and anti-vaccinators. And whilst the common goal is survival and to beat this virus pandemic, being sidetracked by this vaccines debacle is sending many to an early grave.

The McCoy family lived mostly on the Kentucky side of the Tug Fork; the Hatfields lived mostly on the West Virginia side.[1][2] The majority of the Hatfields, although living in Mingo County (then part of Logan County), fought for the Confederacy in the American Civil War; most McCoys also fought for the Confederates,[3] with the exception of Asa Harmon McCoy, who fought for the Union. The first real violence in the feud was the death of Asa as he returned from the war, murdered by a group of Confederate Home Guards called the Logan Wildcats. Devil Anse Hatfield was a suspect at first, but was later confirmed to have been sick at home at the time of the murder. It was widely believed that his uncle, Jim Vance, a member of the Wildcats, committed the murder.[4]

The Hatfields were more affluent than the McCoys and politically well-connected. Anse's timbering operation was a source of wealth for his family, while the McCoys were more of a lower-middle-class family. Ole Ran'l owned a 300-acre (120 ha) farm. Both families had also been involved in the manufacturing and selling of illegal moonshine, a popular commodity at the time.

When everyone was on one accord and battling this virus, the results were better. Then the vaccines came along and a battle erupted between the pro Vaccine and the anti-vaccinators. Google ‘Hatfields and McCoys’ then carry on smartly.

During a wave of the Spanish flu, the virus got so deadly, persons would leave for work in the morning and not return home. They contracted the flu and was dead in 12 hours. People died in their homes leaving young children behind and the children starved because everyone was too afraid of the virus to go rescue them. Some who died were left unburied because there were no coffins or no family members left to bury them or everyone else was too burnt out. People started abandoning or killing their pets when it was rumored that pets spread the virus and, in some instances, police did shoot and kill stray animals. And they also threatened to shoot, with the same force, persons found in public not wearing a masks. There were no vaccines for thhe Spanish flu back in 1918 and people soon realized that if they wanted to survive the pandemic, they must social distance, go out their homes as less is possible and wear masks whenever they did and follow all other safety measures. That is what brought the pandemic of the 1918 Spanish flu to an end, even though it left millions of fatalities in its wake around the world. That pandemic also lasted over two years.

Obviously your head is in the mud. The Bahamas is attracting more tourists for this time of year than a regular year, considering the situation. So wake up to reality and stop pandering to foolishness. Furthermore some parts of the US where most tourists come from are more infected than typhus country and that is why the chose to come here.

I don't know if I can agree with the doctor that things will get worse. First whilst there is an exponential increase in the number of persons testing positive for the virus, the number of people getting seriously ill and/or dying from the disease is at a much less rate.
.
And remember, more people are being tested and re-tested than ever before and at a greater frequency than ever before. So these persons may have contracted the virus months ago and may now have a natural immunity to the virus and will not get sick from it. The recovery rate is still relatively high or even very high in this country.

.
And if this is the case and the number of cases of persons getting sick is not increasing at an an increasing rate than that indicates that some type of immunity has kicked in and eventually there will be a decline in the number of persons getting ill and presenting to health care facilities.

This sentiment would tend to correlate with earlier statements from medical professionals who indicated that a lot of spread is from family members who visit other family members who they don't live with. And Bahamians and residents alike, from day one, should have been encouraged to visit the beach more, especially during weekdays, when they are not so crowded and on family islands where the populations are sparse. The restaurants were able to effectively move their operations outdoors and to curb side but no spas barbers or gyms seem to have considered the effort,
.
And how can you justify putting more restrictions on a population, when thousands of tourists are being allowed into the country? One cruise alone brings 4,000 guests. And how many Bahamians on average does a guest come into contact with. Of course the guest may be fully vaccinated, but hey may also have suppressed symptoms.
.
.

Finally, for the most part most Bahamians (and residents alike) are home by sunset. And yes, of course, there are the young people, who believe they are invincible or who just don't take the virus seriously.. And unfortunately this is the group the new Delta strain is targeting. And it is not coincidental. In order fro the virus to continue to survive, it must mutate and continue to spread. and since the young population is most active and more mobile and yes, up to this point, probably the least infected, then they are the most practicable target. The virus is smart.

Can someone say what happens when a visitor to The Bahamas tests positive for Covid-19?

1.Are the numbers added to the island they are visiting when they test positive fro the virus or
added to their home country's numbers?

1. Are they allowed/required to remain in the country until they test negative or are they allowed to leave? Obviously this may depend on mode of travel, commercial craft, private craft or cruise ship
2. and what about hospitalizations?
3. And are medical authorities here under any requirement to report the status of these individuals to their country of destination?

John says...

The most vaccinated countries in the world has more than half the world's numbers of new cases. The US alone has one third of new cases. Vaccinated countries tend to have a steeper curve than non vaccinated countries, meaning they have more cases occurring at the same time rather than cases spread out over a period of time. Factors that tend to contribute to increases in new cases:
1. When a country starts mass vaccination drives.
2. A country that doesn't adhere to the original safety protocols, including mass wearing, social distancing, avoiding large crowds.
3. A country or population that has numerous people leaving and reentering the country or population (history of travel). The islands with frequent travelers has increased numbers of cases.
4. A country of population that has numerous people entering and leaving. (Porous borders, like The Bahamas with its tourism). Notice the islands with the greatest amounts of tourists also has the greatest amounts of cases.

John says...

so are you denying the uk has flattened its curve? You sounds like a total Vaccinated, brainwashed idiot. So are you saying unvaccinated people should not have the right to seek treatment if they get ill. So what about vaccinated people who get a breakthrough illness and probably have been spreading the virus? Should they also be denied medical care...stay off the vaccine dude.
