So Minnis presented his fairy tale budget with all the bells and whistles attached. So will he call an early election and jump ship? The electorate is very agitated disillusioned at this time.. Minnis may seek to calm them before the election. Or maybe he wants to walk away from the PM's chair?

You say it is a white man religion, but what does the bible say will happen to descendants of slaves after all the slaves have 'gone to sleep,' And what will happen to those countries (that strange land meaning the US and the other countries that kept slaves for over 400 years) and continue to abuse their descendants even today?

A new trend is developing where persons are getting more than the recommended doses of vaccines. Some are taking one brand then switching to another. And some are taking additional doses of the same vaccine. Dr Fauci says the science does not support this practice and persons may be engaging in risky behavior. And, yes the breakthrough cases are increasing. Fauci believes there could be serval reasons for this. One is that vaccinated persons may become ‘careless’ and become exposed to different variants of the corona virus. And eventually these variants will overcome the vaccines and the person will become ill. Another explanation is that a vaccinated persons accumulates less of the corona mucus in his nostrils. And so they will show less symptoms of the virus. But there is an accumulation in the person’s lungs and so eventually they will become ill. By this time there may be severe damage to other internal organs.

Dr Fauci ( who lacks credibility) says a new situation is developing where persons who have been fully vaccinated are seeking to get additional vaccinations. This is mostly with the single shot Johnson and Johnson, where persons believe it is not providing sufficient protection. So they seek to get full doses of the other two-shot vaccines. Fauci says there’s no science to predict the outcome of getting re-vaccinated and persons may be putting themselves at risk. He warned against it but says sometimes in the future persons may require booster shots and that is when it would be more advisable for people to change their vaccines.

Whilst the number of new cases and COVID-19 deaths in the US are at the lowest levels since March 2020, recent spikes in this country’s new cases has put numbers to March 2021 numbers. Some of these spikes can be directly linked to the reopening of the tourist market and increasing travel of Bahamians abroad. How many persons does an average tourist come in contact with on say a three day stay or weeks vacation in the country? Is it really possible to do contact tracing from the person arrives at a port of entry to the time he/she leaves? It is easier to monitor a person returning from abroad who must present a negative Covid test. The confusion comes in, however, when vaccinated people do not have to show negative Covid tests. What many countries are experiencing is vaccinated persons who are not tested or not required to wear masks become super spreaders among the rest of the population because they show no outward symptoms of the virus. So they can go around for weeks spreading the disease. And hence the CDC has revised its requirements for vaccinated persons and is not recommending indoor dining and other similar activities for anyone. Here there were several instances of people overwhelming authorities at funerals and storming the gates of graveyards. And because of the political fallout, authorities are not monitoring church services to ensure they are adhering to safety protocols in reference to how many people can attend a service. So what comes after the Delta strain? Whilst the US and many countries are showing numbers at their lowest since the pandemic began, there is an upturn in the numbers of cases worldwide. And most likely this is countries that relaxed its restrictions for vaccinated people or experiencing the Delta strain or, like The Bahamas, seeing increased travel both in and out the country. Will the Delta strain create another wave?

So Bahamian businesses ( or any business ) doing business with the government must now sing on to Kano in order to get paid. Some of these businesses will only have government as a Kano customer so the fees may force them to give up business with the government. Not knocking any advance in technology but to force additional expenses on smaller businesses to advance a single provider is not a good thing. In fact it may be taking bread out of these business owner’s mouths.
