We have so intricately adopted the policies of America which was actually policies against Black people. Our brothers. Some who fought bravely to free us from slavery. And their fight against poverty and economic discrimination and exclusion continues. Not saying it is right for people to come here and construct illegal shantytowns. But why wait until homes are fully constructed to destroy them? And some of the homes are owned, or at least, occupied by Bahamians. Simply because there are no alternative housing, especially in Abaco.

You started to make sense until you posted this crap. everyone knows this corona virus are beyond the confines of Wu Haun. It is global. Whether man made or natural. And this virus was in The Bahamas before or around the same time it surfaced in China. Doctors were seeing patients with this ‘strange flu’ but they had no identity for it.

It makes sense because the cases in which the Tribunal rules is an infinite amount compared to the number of people being terminated from their jobs

Caller to radio show says water has been flowing from a burst pipe in Garden Hills for over a month. Calls made to WSC were responded with , ‘we are aware of the leak but we (WSC) can’t get permission from MOW to dig up the road to repair the leak. The new law causes any utility company that dig up the road without permission to receive a $10,000 fine.

atlantis and many hotel properties, not only here but around the world, adopted a policy years ago where they regenerate their staff by terminating the older staff and bringing in new faces. The hotel industry is no longer one where you can retire in being a good bartender or waitress. Marketing data indicates that hotel guests want to see young and energetic faces and hotels comply to remain competitive. So they made 750 redundant today and gradually bring in new workers. A similar situation occurs in most of the retail stores around the country. But workers are hired on two, three or four year contracts. When their contracts expire they may be given the option to renew if their employment was favorable, but they must sign up as a new worker. So they are not entitled to long term benefits or other benefits.

Did the expensive ‘shit spotter’ and street video cameras not work again? After the shooting that left six men dead and an adult female and a child seriously injured, the public’s confidence in the police is at its lowest. Especially since the word on the street has identified who is believed to be responsible for the slayings, even by name, first and last , whilst the police rema. remain silent. The fact is there is a serious culture of gun violence in this country, more specifically New Providence and the corona pandemic, for the most part, has masked the true dept and seriousness of it. The police and national security and social services, have yet to come up with a sustained plan to curb gun violence. In fact some believe that the police plan is to fight fire with fire, but even with increased police involved shootings, the murder rate and gunshot injuries remain at levels of Pre Minnis and the FNM. The question then is what has the multi-million dollars investments in drones, new vehicles, shot spotter, cameras, etc., accomplished?
