The US is basically pulling out all the stops claiming the Covid-19 pandemic to be ‘basically ended.’ The president himself, Joe Biden, claims Americans will see life return to normalcy by Independence, July 4th., ‘especially if everyone continues to take the vaccine.’ It was Philadelphia that had an early celebration in the form of a parade during the 1918 pandemic that caused additional thousands of people to become infected. And as for Bahamians, you know we is like come out in ‘da eye of the storm’ and go ‘a wandering.’ Keep ya masks on, continue to sanitize and social distance. Just a few weeks more jred!

Make the police force work easier and less interactive. Decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana and end America's FAKE "War on Drugs' in this country. make it less necessary for police to do strip searches in the middle of the street and have persons serving time for small amounts of marijuana releases and others who have records for same, espunged. It was a promise of sorts from the PM to the young people of The Bahamas.

If eight bahamians can be shot up and six executed in broad daylight,and these two clowns can’t say who did it, can you honestly believe anything Larry and Moe can tell you? Even about the water?

The same pressure must be put on the RBPF to account for their actions as too many young Bahamians have lost their lives at the hands of the police or been falsely arrested and detained without proper accountability or compensation. A police force that invaded a home during the dark days f night and killed or attempted to kill every male (all Bahamians) sleeping or awake. Armed or passive. Something has to be wrong with that picture. And something has to be wrong when six males were executed (under the heat of the bright midday sun with high powered weapons and after weeks of shuffling the police cannot account to the Bahamian people as to what happened? Who did it? Who was brave enough to dress all in BLACK and shoot up eight bahamians in this fashion and exit the area on foot with big, long assault weapons in hand? Did they have police intelligence or more intelligence than the police? Where did they go? Did they disappear into the surrounding neighborhood or did they have vehicles trailing or waiting to make good their escape? Was this an ‘isolated’ incident or are more attacks and executions planned? Are Bahamians, young males especially, safe?

The good thing is that the country was not locked down over the past few months and there was some economic activity going on. Rather than continue to beat the tourism horse prematurely and causing false starts ( well now is the time to really go after the tourism market). Government should have put more effort into getting those companies with construction projects on the table to get them up and running. Construction sites have proven to be fairly safe from Corona in The Bahamas and nothing a government should love to see better than a reopening and rebounding tourism met with a booming construction industry. Even as the country goes into Elections.

I have always maintained that Covid-19 virus will be mostly gone be June and almost fully gone by summer. The CDC is now saying their data suggests that the virus is rapidly disappearing across the US and life can return to almost full normalcy by Independence Day (July 4th). Well that is if that country does not act prematurely and throw caution to the wind and discard safety protocols too soon. Remember it was only first because Donald Trump refused to acknowledge the virus as a pandemic, then refused to implement safety protocols, including the wearing of masks, social distancing and restrictions on large gatherings, especially that allowed the virus to rage across the US and for so long. As soon as Joe Biden came to office and required mandatory wearing of masks in all government buildings, the numbers started to fall. Despite this, some will try credit the vaccines as bringing an end to the pandemic. In fact Joe Biden is seeking to have the record breaking profits company, Pfizer’s vaccine fully approved and not just approved for emergency. This will allow Pfizer and the US to distribute the vaccine to other countries and private companies will then be able to purchase the vaccine for distribution. And Americans who were skeptical because of the vaccine ‘emergency status’ may now be convinced to take the vaccine. In any event, it all means the company will continue to reap billions in profits. And Pfizer is convinced that a third booster shot will be needed as early as October or early next year by all who have taken the first two jabs. Most people are hoping Covid-19 will be long gone by October and definitely history by next year, as early as January 1st.

On the other hand, the US cases are plunging rapidly. They are in fact at their lowest level since June 2020. And the country is reopening almost fully. People are planning summer vacations and travel. Hopefully it is not premature.
