the young people are growing restless and many people are suffering from 'Corona Fatigue.: The message needs to get out there that the pandemic is not yet over. In fact most of the world and The Bahamas are on the verge of a third wave, if not into it already. This is no time to let your guard down.. Just a few more weeks to get this behind us. And remember those vaccines do NOT make you invincible. You cant still contract Corona if you have taken the vaccine. And you can still pass the virus on to other people. The vaccines only reduce the chances of one catching the virus or becoming severely ill if one does catch it.. Masks, social distancing, hand washing and sanitizing, safe distancing, avoiding large crowds and staying home as much as possible are proven measures of fighting Corona,

From it was determined that the patient could not be airlifted or transported to New Providence for critical care, hopefully the patient was offered as much comfort care as possible so as to ease the pain and misery involved in suffering and dying from a severe case of Covid-19. Any life lost is one too many and the country must now re-assess the ability to respond to these unusual type situations. As Dr Sands pointed out, there are many more persons living in The Bahamas with this type weight and they should be made aware of the limitations in transporting them and also in offering some types of treatment. May his soul rest in peace.

Is this a matter of which comes first, the chicken or the egg? On the one hand, the country is calling for stronger, more powerful and productive leaders to move the country forward. And on the other hand, women are crying for more opportunity or equality. Will women now demand they be allowed to play on men’s NBA teams, then demand the basketball rim be lowered so they can be more effective basketball shooters and score more points? Most of the women politicians in this country in the past were effective. Including Janet Bostwick, Cynthia Pratt, Ivy Dumont? Glenys Hanna-Martin and, yes Loretta Butler-Turner. And even though their numbers never matched the men, they always had an effective presence. And there were no lowering of the bar or compromises made for them to attain their roles or make their accomplishments. It was her own undoing that caused Loretta Butler-Turner to not hold the second highest post in politics today with the strong possibility of one day being prime minister. And maybe that is why she is still shying away from front line politics. And what about other areas and professions where women are dominating and making great strides? In the medical field, in Education and in the legal fields, for example? Where their male counterparts are being pushed aside, overtaken or left behind. The country suffers drastically for the lack of male teachers in the education system. Are compromises willing to be made to ensure equality among the sexes, of will these systems le beft to correct and balance themselves out?

Regardless of which party wins the election, Minnis will most likely retain his seat. And there’s a lot of pre-election work going on in his constituency. He has constituents from the very rich to the very poor. And whilst his popularity may have diminished somewhat because of the lockdowns and curfews during they corona pandemic, he is still popular and favored in his entire constituency. Unlike many other politicians who cannot even walk to two or three houses in their area without getting cussed out or even chased away. Aggressively!

In other words ‘stay home whilst we out there.. campaigning, yea ya c

PS;seem like wearing masks, social distancing and regular hand washing and Sanitstion offers more protection than the vaccines. So why the push for mass vaccination?

John says...

Can sure ply explain to me: what exactly do these vaccines do? They do not prevent one from catching Covid-19. The vaccines do not prevent one from passing the virus on to others. And there is a possibility of being even re-infected after taking the vaccine. In fact the ONLY thing these vaccines do is REDUCE the chances of becoming seriously ill and possibly dying if one does contract the Covid virus. Now isn’t that a hard sell for a vaccine that had NOT been fully tested and is only being administered under a state of emergency... by grabs!

minnis took your advice. Persons going to the beaches over the holiday weekend will be limited to a part of FIVE. And once a bro reaches its caps Indy the sago protocols no additional pro will be allowed on that beach until some people leave. Hopefully this will work out. ho early or go later!

John says...

Actually they are safer on the beach, in the sun and the fresh-salt air than the average worker is in an office building with coworkers in air conditioning that is recirculating the same air throughout this building. And alcohol kills corona. (Well it had to be 70 percent. Hennessy is only 40 proof.

a third wave may be necessary for the pandemic to end and for the COVID-19 to die. The virus will not lay down and die. It will continue to try to infect and possibly re-infect. That is how these type viruses survive. And if humans continue to wear masks and practice other safety protocols, the virus will be gone in a few weeks. But if they want to act silly and be careless, then they will prolong the virus’ tour on earth, allowing it to infect more people and claim more lives.
