We fear Corona and shut down the country to combat it, over which we had no control, but look what the young people are doing to each other. Gunning down and killing each other in heartless, cold blood? And for what, except out of ignorance! What can be more destructive?
And it was the the invading , thieving foreigners who came in and cut down the hills in Pinewood and toted away the limestone valued at millions of dollars. Snake Wilson and his gang came in on the tail end and got the spoils.
The messenger, maybe you need to reread my post. You said, yourself that water finds itself to a lower level but yet you attempt to discredit my premise that if the houses had higher foundations, the water would then run into the roads and into drains, if constructed, without the need for any mechanical assistance. And whilst you may be correct that Pinewood is a private subdivision, it is tax paying Bahamians who have been long suffering. And if the developers do not do what they are supposed to do, the government should step in and offer relief, even if it means battling with the developers afterwards and attempting to recover some of the expenses. Pinewood is a disaster that affects many Bahamians and it is sully for you to suggest that government should continue to turn a blind eye and have deaf ears to the cries of these people.
Only a full idiot would believe the post above. The first opportunity to fix the flooding problem in Pinewood was during the construction. They could have raised the houses two courses of blocks and put passive storm drains along the roadways like most roads in New Providence have. The higher houses would force the excess water into the streets and into the drains. The water is less that 12 inches so six foot drains could accommodate the flow. And as a precaution they can build a catchment basin in where water can be pumped out during excessive rains. Sandy Port use to flood over three feet with heavy rains and high tides. And that problem was remedied while increasing value to the pros.
Can you imagine the billions/trillions these pharmaceutical companies will make? Wanting to vaccinate the entire world population with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. And this has to be done annually. If even 2/3 of the population is vaccinated annually that will be over $100 billion in revenue for these companies.
The US is leaning towards mass vaccinations rather than building natural resistance. Herd Immunity. time frame: at least a few weeks before first part of vaccine is administered. Second part of vaccine will be administered at least three weeks after first part. Effects of vaccine (protection). do not kick in for at least five weeks after second part of vaccine is administered. And there will be side effects. So it will be at least ten weeks before the vaccine becomes effective. By that time covid-19 may have dried up and disappeared. AND one of the vaccines has to be stored at sub-zero temperatures and requires specialized equipment for storage and to be administered. Is the vaccine brought to room temperature before it is injected in your body?
California and other parts of the US goes into lockdown just weeks before Christmas as the US continues to shatter Covid—19 records daily. Count your blessings.
This country finds itself in a peculiar situation as the PM attempts to relax some of the covid emergency orders and allow Bahamians to celebrate with some normalcy, their most festive season of the year. And after almost 20 months of lockdowns and curfews and other restrictions. Many will welcome these restrictions with open arms. Some may even get caught up and go overboard in their celebrations and throw all caution to the wind and carry on as it corona no longer exists. But hopefully this will not be too much the case. This is also the week that the country will see the effects, if any, of the thousands of Bahamians who traveled to Florida and beyond, to other parts of the United Sartes and the world, for that matter. As well as the number of tourists who were also allowed to enter this country. With the Christmas holidays a mere two weeks away, no one wants a lockdown or even curfews. Though many will be celebrating the holidays with great financial restraints and they have not worked since March. Others are still just barely working. And many businesses are counting on holiday sales being sufficient enough to allow them to continue to operate in the new year.
