No flights out of Port SubPrince but there are flights. Similar to the lies they have been telling about The BahamasThat it is full of crime and violence and unsafe for tourists. “Their position is if Prime Minister Henry is gone, there’s no recognisable government until the transitional government is put in place, and their police will have no one to answer to. That may end up being a short-time issue or longer-term issue.” But this is the point of contention. Henry was not elected but planted. The Haitians say they will allow no plan to function that doesn’t involve their input
Is it Sears who needs to be fired or The PM who needs to resign? Because firstly, if Sears misspoke and misled the house and in this ninth hour then the PM is leading a government that is grossly incompetent. Neither companies or smaller businesses or even self employed individuals are waiting around with large chunks ( or gunks) of money waiting for a NIB increase. Some businesses may have to adjust their profit margins or income stream to accumulate funds to pay this increase, especially if they have a chain of food stores ir fast food restaurants or even hotel workers where the increase can amount to thousands of dollars a month. And NIB now has ads running, telling businesses and the work force to be prepared for an increase in NIB contributions come June. And if there is an increase, does it not have to be a part of a structured PLAN where NIB’s expenses does not continue to outpace its revenue. But the public should understand. Not only has Davis been running his administration on deficit spending, but increased deficit spending. So is Davis now interfering in the portfolio and responsibilities of a cabinet minister?
So this started happening on Wednesday or Thursday of last week. And it continued through the weekend. The bank was unavailable on Saturday and Sunday so some people were inconvenienced and unable to use their debit cards throughout the weekend. Now RBC says it may take up to seven days to fix the problem. Taking customers into another weekend.
Someone ( except I and I ) needs to explain why the Bahamian economy is in a record breaking tourism boom, yet the local economy is dry as the Sahara Desert after a ten year drought. Bahamians living from hand to mouth for the most part. . . So you mean to tell me ( I and I) that an establishment tas large as NIB and as financially important as NIB does not have a plan and projections that extend even twenty year into the future. A plan that tells them how much investments the Bahamian people will have in 5-10-15-20-25 years. The projected returns (net of losses) and the revenue from contributions, and other injections and expenses including operating bvosts and claim payouts. This is the only way NIB can make a sensible decision of how much they need to increase contributions. Definitely minimum wage will not be the same in ten years and definitely not in 30 years. And whilst the Bahamian work force may be shrinking due to Bahamians having smaller families, the deman for labor is increasing. So then the need to ensure that imported labor pays their contributions. And what effect will AInand other technologies have on the work force, on claims and payouts and on investments? And if the PM didn’t want to commit to ta twenty year plan why not for a two or even five years?
and the roof came tumbling down in the house of cards. Too much infighting and distrust and maybe betrayal Even among the principals that made the product unattractive, despite the vast opportunity that was available to empower and benefit investors
dont miss the point: the major issue or concern is ( or should be) tge number if (accused) persons who are not violating their bail conditions, who continue to wear their ankle monitors, but end up DEAD! Some ( many ) may be innocent but they ( apparently) are being executed by vigilante or street justice. And this is causing the dominoes to continue to fall and the tit for tat’ you kill my dog and I kill your cat . But, unfortunately it’s neither digs nor cats that are being killed. . And then the ones who tamper with or remove their monitors are almost found in violation of their bail conditions and even out of the jurisdiction. And the law needs to come down on them heavily. And the longer they go unmonitored, the greater the chances of them being involved in serious crime. The previous monitoring company blamed the police for not responding in a timely manner so maybe there needs a rapid response team to deal with ankle bracelet violations.
Even though the minister did not say if all 300,000 files were active since 2017 or how many work permits were given, it is clearly visible that immigrants or even temporary workers are receiving work permits. The Mexicans have taken over most of the construction field and the Haitians taken over a lot of other jobs. And some Family Islands complain that the Haitians outnumber Bahamians as much as 3 to 1 and most of them have legal status. Sip, sip is that the present government gave thousands of Haitians amnesty shortly after coming to office. This means these immigrants don’t have to apply for work permits so the government loses out on that revenue. And if they try to go to the US, they will not be granted status, but returned to The Bahamas instead, where they have amnesty status. So their only other option is to return to Haiti. Which for many, not an option. And for the record, Haiti or Haitians is one of the fastest growing populations in the world. They already make up fifty percent of the population in Turks and Cacios
Until The BaHAMAS is reaping at least 10 percent ( 8 Billion) of the Caribbean Cruise industry annual revenue, then all you described above refers to those who exploiting The BaHAMAS and the Bahamian people. You more likely to be one of those Higgs who benefiting than me. That’s why you so defensive and passionately ANGRY!
And as for your spin in my reference to visitors getting juice ‘in the sand’ the crude description was used intentionally to mock you ( Tribune trolls of how you refer to Bahamians in the most crude and degrading beat… thugs, rapists, drug abusers etc. why, what have any Bahamian done to you to carry and expose so much hatred and despise for them? Yet you ( collectively) call me a bigot and a racist and a communist. Now you try to say I have a problem with women but I won’t even your imagination. But I will say a young male working on the beach with female guests are vulnerable, yes to sexual seduction also. And exit surveys confirm that many women come to The Bahamas and the Caribbean looking for sex, even in the sand. And so now most young men working in the industry have to compete a Bahama Host program where they are taught’ the tourist are your customers. And you should NOT be having sex with them! And some of the hotels and resorts go even further and tell their employees ‘when you expose yourself to the point of having sex with the guests or even going to their rooms, you also expose the property to potential liability
