Are the unusual numbers of Bahamians being found dead or unresponsive in their homes or elsewhere replayed to the Corona pandemic? RIP Banister.

Whoever thought in The Bahamas, friends band family could not be together to support one of the happiest occasions (weddings) or even the saddest occasion, to mourn and mark the passing of a loved one. At their funeral. How have things changed. But it has been proven and well documented, that large gatherings become super spreader events for the Corona virus and can even result in the grave illness of persons who attend or even the deaths of persons who did not attend, but came in contact with at least one person who did. In the United States, daily new cases have been over 100,000 for over a week now, and the mass, non-mask wearing rallies hosted by Donald Trump, must be included among the super spreader events that have contributed to the super surge in Corona cases. So as this country goes into one of the most festive periods of the year, starting with the Us Thanksgiving, thru Christmas and even the end of one of the most ‘needing to forget quickly’ years in recent times, how do you convince Bahamians NOT to have large gatherings. Even ones that include ‘just family’. Even just immediate family. Some experts are already advising to limit celebrations, including dinners to members of the household, and even then have as many as the activities as possible outside. They also suggest keeping windows open and events can be shared with extended family and friends via Zoom or other platforms. And, of course, there are those who live to go house hopping during this time, to share gifts, for food or even drinks. As records reflect, there have been surges after every holiday and proper planning should limit the number of people visiting your homes.

No surprise. Half the country been locked down or shuttered for nine months. Should be expected. Just hope the virus disappears soon and the country rebounds even stronger next year.

And should the country prepare for another surge as more Bahamians are traveling abroad and as more tourists are expected to visit? The US is going into its second week with new cases over 100,000 and one of that country’s top infections disease experts say the numbers cand double by December. Is the surge actually peaking like it did in this country and will decline and is this expert fear mongering as the US plans (hopes) to start vaccinations against the virus in December? They plan to vaccinate health care and other frontline workers first and expect this alone will take months. Months before the vaccine is available to the general population. Will the virus still be around y then? What about the company that was injecting volunteers with live strains of the virus? To test their vaccine under specific conditions. And the controversy with the vaccine in Brazil where persons who volunteered to take trials of the vaccine have died.

So Saturday and Sunday curfew begins at 6:00 pm. Meaning stores must close at 5:00 pm. Imagine the rush on Saturday .

And we always buy into the bullshyt they feed us and get shortchanged every time. Are they the ones making the decisions to keep the country on fossil fuels and in the age of the dinosaurs. We will buy into anything to blame Bahamians while they keep us in the dark and rib us blind
