When the country got into bed with US agencies whose intent it was to get young, Black men in prisons and behind bars and out of the homes and away from society. Now despite the conditions it’s no big deal deal about going to bjsil. In fact it had become a safe haven for many, a pity stop those who cannot meet the economic criteria in a free society or endure bathe herd ships of a false social environment. ‘Yea, lock me away ‘ cause something wrong with y’all, not with me!’ ‘I’m ok and you’re not ok.’
Snd Donald Trump had again threatened to over rule ang regulations that are seemingly delaying the release and mass distribution of a corona vaccine. The medical experts say this will not happen and all vaccines must go through a full and complete test cycle to ensure they are, indeed safe. They don’t expect any vaccine to be mass distributed until the spring of 2021. Trump, on the other hand, believes that some testing measures should be bypassed and vaccinations should begin next month. Joe Biden feels that science should determine the release of a vaccine, not politics. But he also believes the government can do more to battle the virus, like enforcing the wearing of face masks nation wide as well as other safety measures
Truth of the matter is there have been uncontrollable spikes around the world. Is this an intensification of the second wave, an isolated spike or the third wave? European countries are announcing additional measures, including the enforcement of face masks and Vivian distancing. And whilst the numbers are surging in New York for the first time since June, that state still plans to start face to face school today (Tuesday), while at the same time considering lockdowns of certain areas that have surges. And Florida, that has over 700,000 cases alone has announced that it is fully reopening its economy, including full indoor dining. Because of it’s unpopularity and the recent failed attempt, The Bahamian government seems hesitant, if not reluctant, to introduce lockdown measures. Even to areas of the population that is experiencing surged in Covid -19 cases. It can inn afford a full national lockdown again and even a total lockdown of an island like New Providence or Grand Bahama will push the country over the financial cliff. So what can be expected worldwide when the flu season is in full effect? What will happen locally when the government relaxes or adjusts its travel policies and there’s more travel between Bahama Idlands as well as more persons coming in and leaving the country , many to return after only a short travel?
When you see how some of the richest, most powerful nations in the world are fumbling trying to fight the Corona pandemic. Despite all their resources they are faring worse than the smaller, third world nations. And the US seems to have its hands extra, extra full, having 1/3 of the corona cases in the world, an extremely high incidence of corona deaths and no seemingly United Force on how to battle this pandemic and win. And the US is not use to fighting battles on the home soil. And, in addition to the Corona pandemic, this country has been hit by several hurricanes and is battling a raging fire on its west cost, that seems to be getting more fierce and more deadly every year. So how can countries, lathe Bahamas, put itself in better position to do for and defend itself as countries, like an America May have to use most of its resources and manpower to fight its own battles?
US $ may be in more trouble than the Bahamian $ so if the country goes strictly to US currency it may be planning its even sooner fall off the fiscal cliff.
As I have always maintained, governments of smaller nations, like The Bahamas and weaker nations like Venezuela and Brazil and most African States become mere puppets to the more powerful nations. And when they refuse boy dance and wiggle, their (puppet ) strings get cut!
