Even Zhivago Laing, in his arrogance, knows everyone is watching the BREXIT to see what happens with that and what happens to Britain after it leaves the EU. Will it become another Haiti. Will it be shunned and scorned by the rest of Europe and even the United States and Canada? There is no need to rush into an organization where the exits may be blocked or too narrow to exit in the same condition and independence you entered into it. Everyone is trying to strengthen their boarders not weaken them, even with trade. Carey Leonard needs to take a chill pill and relax.

On WTO delay: We must get on with it

Hubert Minnis, Marvin Dames and Anthony Ferguson must have the same resolve when it comes to fighting crime in this country and stopping the wholesale slaughter of young men. The country is about to have another year of triple digit murders and the only plan Marvin Dames and Anthony Ferguson seem to have is the mass abuse of government and police resources in what is no less than a definite attempt to shut down the vendors on Potters Cay. There are places like Pinewood and Bain Town that have had dozens of shootings since the killings on Potters Cay and they have less than half the police presence. Is Marvin Dames expecting a mass invasion and attack be gangs and criminals or is the huge police presence with high powered weapons an attempt that intimidate vendors and visitors alike and discourage them from going to Potters Cay? In Jamaica they declared a state of emergency and launched an all out manhunt for known criminals and gang leaders. As the heat on them intensified some of these gang leaders and persons wanted for high crimes Attempted to flee the island to places like Haiti and Dominica, where they were met by rival gangs and some were apparently executed. Jamaica officials have pledged not to let up until gang leaders are flushed out and sent to jail or forced to flee. Is it time for the police in New Providence to go after gang leaders and get them off the streets or is ok for the country to continue to record triple digit murder year after year? And many are young men, some of school age who don’t really know what they are being killed for.

Why did they fill those tanks just prior to the arrival of the hurricane?

As one pastor put it, ‘ America is peeling back the onion skin and revealing the stench of those who lead the country.’ At the end of the day it is all about money and power and money. One had to wonder why Giuliani became such an ass kisser to Trump, but he was actually trying to also cover his own assets. Imagine what they do to small, vulnerable inexperienced countries like The Bahamas.

This is no coincidence. Forces across the bridge have been trying to shut down Potters Cay for decades. Now they have found a cheap sellout with a badge that’s willing to use an entire police force to help them make it happen. This is what they did to Black businesses in America when they became successful. If fact the only bombings in America was on Black businesses.

Imagine now if there were some 30-50,000 Bahamian shareholders in Bah Mar and more in Atlantis. Is the day ever coming when Bahamians are empowered wholesale?.

John says...

Many Bahamians will chicken out' on a lawsuit such as this one. First, because they will always be fearful of a backlash that may take the form of them not being able to get power supply in the future, or be singles out for disconnections or even getting higher light bills. The bottom line is most Bahamians want the electricity supply to get better, and more reliable and the rates to get lower so that they can afford to live comfortably. And yes, many will see this lawsuit, if it ever becomes one, like a wrench in the operations.

John says...

Did they ever get the fire hoses to work or did they just have to stand by and watch the buildings burn?

John says...

Is the play of words on immigrants or illegal immigrants. Because obviously no UN can ever in good faith and clean heart and clear conscience tell a country to stop deporting illegals, especially when the country itself is in crisis and mass devastation. The part about deporting immigrants who were on work permits and their jobs no longer exists, I agree they should be given reasonable time to wrap up their affairs and to leave the country. Six months minimum if not until their work permits expire.
