Bahamians can avoid these tariffs by importing goods directly from China or substitute goods from countries like , Japan Thailand India. And lots of products will be involved. From meats to veggies to appliances and electronics to clothing and shoes and even cars. And companies that import these goods into the US strictly for export to other countries can avoid these tariffs by investing in bonded warehouses. This can also be a big boost for Freeport, where goods can be bought in ‘bonded’ to be shipped back out . But retailers have experienced one of their worst sales quarters in 12 years where virtually all the mass chain outlets including Macy’s and Home Depot and recording earnings below expectations. The tariffs increases at this time will spell disaster and demise for many of them. Clothing and shoes retailers have reported the most disappointing sales and if Trump increases the tariffs many won’t see Christmas. A pair of shoes coming from China to the US will incurr 92% duty!

It is definitely not normal for criminals or even gangs to want to possess or even tote AK-47 assault rifles. This is something very new and very strange to the Bahamas. And even in most police raids these weapons are hardly discovered. Criminals prefer small , handy weapons that are easily concealed and easy to discard. So where are these , assault weapons coming from and how are they getting into the country? Even with thousands of licensed shot guns around, these weapons are hardly ever used in the commission of a crime. The gun culture was something that started in the 1980&s and was promoted through movies, tap music and video games, especially among Black populations throughout the world. Every one feels they have to have a gun to protect themselves against the boogeymen. And usually the boogie man ends up being a friend a schoolmate or a rival gang member who was like a brother to you, except he joined a different gang. And according to a leader of a famous organization, their members are not allowed to carry weapons or even keep them in their homes for protection unless there was s some unusual circumstance. ‘Because once you arm yourself with a weapon, your next intention is to use it. And in the home it will usually be some friend or family member that gets shot and killed. And in Britain, where guns are more difficult to get, stabbings of young, black male has reached epidemic levels. Just like shootings iof young, Black men in The Bahamas and The Caribbean. Why the propensity for young Black men to kill each other? And the aids (weapons) so readily accessible. Sources say a gun on the street costs a few hundred dollars. And you don’t really need to buy one, you can rent them be or hire a hit man for a few hundred more. ‘ Cain where is thy brother? Are you your brothers keeper or have you spilled his blood on the earth and caused the soul to be cursed and with t cannot bring forth any fruit? Do you have the mark of Cain on your forehead?

The WTO membership (as with sister organizations) is like holding hands with others behind your back while claiming to be free and independent. But you cannot show both your hands at the same time.

If Marvin Dames was not an overzealous, half educated trigger happy idiot, he would try bro ensure the last thing that happens is the police is constantly plastered over the news, especially with multiple killings in a residence in the middle of the night. The police claim that they were shot on is like finding snow on top of Paradise Island Bridge at 12:00 noon today. WHAT Marvin Dames needs to do is get a team of his top officers and officials and come to the table of common sense. Is there a common link between the killings at government house, at Arawak Cay, at Potters Cay in Bimini, the shootings in Fox Hill and on the ramp at Montagu? What do they all have in common.? For sure they are affecting the country’s image drastically internationally and gives reasons for some to tell their people not to come to this country. And if they do come to the Bahamas, do not interact with Bahamians. Who would want to form this type of image of The Bahamas? And who is benefiting from it? Are the police’s action the right and proper ones by responding with even more gunfire and killings? Is crime and murder in the Bahamas really Economic Warfare. Are Bahamians being USED to destroy their own economy and disenfranchise their own selves? How many unregistered foreign agents (diplomats) are operating in The Bahamas and what are their intentions. How many are posting pure negativity on this very same Tribune page?
