So who ger be dere to make sure dey don’t go gamble with the VAT money like they do with the rent money in many homes? Sebas needs his 25 million a year.

John says...

And as long as the authorities remain silent on this slay of this innocent young man they are active participants in one of the most brutal and violent killings in the country. The Bible says they are dumb dogs that refuse to bark. They are not dumb because they cannot bark, but because they REFUSE to bark. Active participation.

John says...

Not every young man that is killed is a criminal or have done someone some injustice. Our Father, God, says he allowed some to be killed to keep them from evil. to keep them from evil! No one knows the trials and temptations many of these young men are going through because we never bothered to ask them. In fact we continue to buy police cars and guns and allow them to be gunned down like dogs. eighteen holes in one! But our God says I allowed them to be delivered from evil. Taken away from that wicked temptation. And they are safely and peacefully resting in the bosom of Abraham. Mothers may continue to weep for their sons. And question why. But God knows best. And for some he says ‘I will be the father of your children and no one will be able to take them from you. No one! Weep for those who are still alive, not for the innocent who have had their lives snuffed out for God knows best.

John says...

Alex Charles I agree with you 100%. Let’s shut this foolishness down! Every single one. But let’s start with the casinos on Paradise Island and on Cable Beach! Are you still there Alex Charles?

One thing some communities are doing is after every news segment they are posting the pictures of the Most wanted suspects and the crimes they are wanted for along with hotline numbers for persons who may have information. Again this is an ‘after the crime ‘ effort but at least it helps shorten the amount of free time criminals have on the streets.

John says...

So it is now up to the Web Shop boys to form a gambling cartel like the oil cartels. Tax avoidance is not illegal. What they can now do is spread the business among the eight gaming houses. So rather than having two or three filthy rich colored boys, there will be 15 or 20. And since the gaming business will be over a wider spread, chances are no one will hit the 50 percent tax bracket. The smaller shops will have to step up to the plate and the bigger ones will have to curb their appetite for profit.

John says...

The question I have is where is all this additional VAT and tax money going? Despite collecting some 2.5 Billion in VAT the national debt has still increased by 2 Billion . I know I use to duck Maths class, but that sounds like some 41/2 Billion in addition to regular revenue. And the country is mostly in shambles. It is shameful to drive up East Street Hill, parts of Shirley Street, Village Road among other places. And the number of businesses still closing down. Now the web shops threatening to increase unemployment and make more commercial buildings vacant. No new schools, hospitals or airports. When has man got to this sorry state where he cannot earn enough to take care of himself or a country cannot earn enough to sustain itself. Yet we hear about the Billions and Billions of dollars in natural resources leaving this country every year. Do you realize that gas will be above $5.00 a gallon after the increase in VAT kicks in. And yes the rice will have to stay white because many Bahamians can’t afford pigeon peas and tomato paste to jazz it up.

**"Contraband cell phones are a real problem. They have allowed prisoners to surreptitiously deal drugs, run illegal businesses and even organize murders, right under the noses of guards and wardens. A single South Carolina prison recently detected 35,000 cell phone calls and texts over a 23-day period.Apr 7, 2016"**

It has always been speculated that criminals continue to operate gangs and sell drugs from prison in The Bahamas and even authorize murders. So the matter has to be taken seriously and may help to crack the large number of murders the country has been experiencing over the past decade.

John says...

BTW seems like the prison was more orderly, under control and SAFER than the streets. There is certain degree of corruption and lawlessness that will exist in every prison. Criminals will find a way. Will be impossible or too expensive to stamp it out completely. Set your tolerance levels and deal harshly with those who are caught. Especially prison officers.

John says...

And with more than half year to go the murder could zips pass FIFTY. Shooting in Culmersville leaves another adult male dead. How long, O Lord, how long.
