At one point the public was being assured that they were generally safe and most of the murders in New Providence was just bad boys killing each other. Drug boys shooting one another in turf wars and gangs killing rival gang members. But over the past few months, especially, it has become more than that. More armed robberies where victims were shot and killed, Others were victims by being near to where shootings took place and yet others only happened to be related to some who was notorious or involved in a gang. Regardless the situation has now everyone to becoming a potential victim of a shooting. Even in their own home or while at some business establishment . No ground is sacred anymore. And obviously it will take more than the work of the police to stop this spiraling situation that is already out of control. There must be intervention before young men swear loyalty to gangs. And usually when armed robbers are caught and taken before the courts they are dressed from head to toe in brand name clothing. Taking innocent lives for materilalism. These are the ones on whom the death penalty should be enforced. Along with those who carry out cold blooded executions.

When the police can pump 18 bullets into the back of an innocent young man, the commissioner remains silent, the minister of national security says there will be no special investigation, business will be as usual and when the prime minister goes to visit the grieving families and the traumatized community but has a change of heart at the last minute.. our sons are not safe! Only DEAD!

The precision by which they do the killings speak volumes. They are not strangers to guns or murder. And they do not fear man nor beast. One time ago they would cry like little babies when go to jail. But many of them feel safer in pro.

Many young men are losing the will to live. Giving up on life. They have seen so many around them slaughtered. Friends, family, coworkers. These were two brothers Cartwright brothers. And their father was also recently murdered. Shot to death.

Grand Bahama is in a better position than it was a year ago. There are spurts of growth and revitalization. But Grand Bahama i(Freeport) is one of the areas of the Bahama did not pay its fair share of taxes to the government when it had 30 plus years of growth and boom. Yes the (Black) Bahamian Workers aid but no one else did. And so the city died. And those who got away with all, ALL the tax exemptions are waiting for government to give it mouth to recessitation. Persons come to Grand Bahama on Millon dollar fishing boats and puke at having to pay a $100 cruising or fishing permit. They bring all their supplies with them . And they take fish and other marine products sometimes valued in thousands of dollars. More rights than Bahamians.

Just visited a part of the US where they are testing driverless cars. It’s scary when the cars get confused and drivers have to assist. But it is usually something a human does that causes this. Padestrines crossing on a Don’t walk signal, jay walking or parking too close to a corner. Things that even human drivers get confused about.
