Yes like the Zika virus and the new outbreak of Ebola that is said to be 10 times more deadly. Do they have viruses that only attack only white people? Well except for that patently obvious one.
Don't know who is advising the government on this matter, but several US cities tried to pass laws making it illegal to be homeless. So essentially they would lock up homeless individuals and lose them in jail. And, of course, when they got released, if ever, they would still be homeless and get re-arrested and back in jail. Many have a lot to be thankful for that Hillary clinton, aka MIss Jezebel, did not get elected.
At our last residence there was also a cruel animal killing our pets. Especially the dogs.. one came home dragging his hind legs as his entire hip bone had been slashed apparently with a machete. Another had a leg broken then after it healed another leg severed after being caught in some kind of trap. Then the third dog just lay on the lawn and died. He had invested poison. Then we found out the cruel animal that did this to our dogs and other pets was our neighbor next door. So we moved.
This is a little over the top to say it was a poisonous snake that got the cat. At least this one. Raccoons and cats leave similar marks when they bite and if they are rabid and the bite goes untreated, then it can become infected and result in taking the cat away. For good. Have the bite marks been there for a while and the homeowner is only noticing ithem now because the cat is dead? This is mating season and there is such things as cat fights. And the cry for snake anti venom in The Bahamas in like buying snow showels instead of hurricane shutters.
The proliferation of economic driven crime. Not the so call killings due to gang and drug wars. Arrmed robberies, shop breaking, car theft home invasion and commercial crime. Crime that the entire population can become exposed to rather than just a segment. A more dangerous type of crime because the next victim can be just anyone. Even you.
Many persons have issues with the fact that Hubert Minnis and his FNM Government are not riding the horse on the neck in a mad rush to the finish line. Instead they seem to sit in the saddle hug the horse with their legs and take a slower but more calculated approach to governance of this country. And even at this pace there have been missteps, stumbles even. And the government has turned around and attempted to correct things that were wrong and keep their governance in a tidy sort of way. And this seems to be Minnis style even when he was in opposition and even when there was a force out to overthrow him as leader of the opposition and leader of the FNM. And some may wonder if there is someone keeping an eye on the clock. Someone to say that a year is gone, soon it will be two and before you know it will be time to ring the Election Bell again. And you must have something to show the people if you want to get elected a second or even to avoid a resounding defeat at the polls. Rejection at its worst. In Hubert Ingraham’s last term in office he burned the midnight oil. He burned candles at both ends and ran the work press 34/7. But yet the people kicked him out even whilst he was still working for them. They say Perry Christie is lazy. But six years ago he and his government had to hit the ground running. The country was such that they were hit with crisis after crisis crime, power outages, passing of strange and funny bills and the evidence of abuse of office and corruption. And on May 10 last year, the people said enough is enough and kicked the PLP out too. And the economy is still sluggish things are still tough, gas is almost back to $5.00 a gallon and the power is still going off. And if Minnis governance does not make Bahamians feel better about themselves, and cause the standard of living to go up and the cost of living to come down then he will lose in 2022 even if a pot cake (not Leslie Miller) was running against him.
I guess I It is more acceptable or shall we say ‘politicall correct ‘ to have homeless people sleeping under the bridge and in front of storefronts than to have them seek shelter from the elements both natural and criminal, in make shift shantytowns. Otherwise there would have been an orderly process where persons are relocated then the structures demolished. The shantytowns do not only represent refugee for illegals. They are testament to how tough things are in this country for some people. For many people. And the Bible teaches that there will always be poor people. For some reason the approach to the eradication of shantytowns seems to be an attack on the other wise homeless
