Agreed Government should sell off at least 10% of these stocks so Bahamians can participate in these earnings. Also while the stocks are trading high (around $18.00 a share). But government is also sitting on Aliv and BTC stocks it promised to sell to Bahamians. Then there are the BoB shares the government acquired more of when it facilitated the banks bailout. And with NIB taking in less money last year than it paid out ($10 - $13 Millon). They may need the cash.

There are over two thousand prisoners in US prisons who are now in their 60’s and 70’s who committed crimes as teenagers but were tried as adults. They were given life sentences without the possibility of parole. Lawyers sought to have the sentence of one such inmate, who is in his 70’s overturned. He was charged with killing a police officer when he was a teen. The judge decided he should stay in jail until his death. There are even many more inmates in their 40’s and 50’s who have been in jail since they were teenagers. Has society failed?

No one wants to be seen to be speaking out against any project that would provide even minimal jobs in Freeport with its high unemployment. but isn't this the same project that Hubert Ingraham rejected because their finances were questionable. and him and one of his MP's had a big bust up over it/ and if even under five years of PLP rule they could not get it up and off the ground the government should proceed cautiously so as to net get a Black Eye similar to that of the Bah Mar project. With Donald Trump as president and promising to move the capital of Israel to Jerusalem, some suspect this may disrupt peace in the Middle East and disrupt oil supplies. So america will want to store some offshore.

One of the best things Perry Christie did was legalize and license the web shops. The same people who came here and threaten to blacklist the country for offshore banking stole all our customers and are now operating under less stringent conditions than they tried to impose on us...talk about racketeering

Many people are treating cars imported from Japan as disposable items. When they stop working they order another one and sell the old one or keep it for spare parts.

Jobs, jobs jobs! Seem to be a key to reducing the crime problem and other social ills it brings with it... drug and alcohol abuse among. And apparently the highest unemployment is among the young, inner city dwellers and the least skilled. Government can assist if it starts some of the road works and other infrastructure work it has proposed in New Providence and on the family. There has to be sufficient work going on simultaneously so as to hire enough workers to affect the unemployment numbers and stimulate the economy.

A fight broke out on a Carnival Cruise ship in the South Pacific. Twenty five passengers were booted from the cruise for fighting with the ship's security and other passengers. security used handcuffs as knuckle braces to beat down and subdue the unruly passengers. Ya think the US State Department will issue travel advisory for Carnival Cruises?
