As previous bloggers intimated: The price of the stock is against future earnings. And so the celebration was that the bank has come out of the red (not shirts like Tal would say) and shows strong potential for future money. After all people invest in crypto currency and what is it. Someone takes some Monopoly money and decides to pretend it’s real money. So others join in and give the crypto highly inflated ‘fiat ‘ value when they really should be charged with counterfeit money. Then the crypto collapses leaving many holding it who got seriously burned. Call it fraud. Now there are dozens of other cryptos hitting the market. The hype is pumped up and thousands more will get burnt.
More ethnic cleansing than fighting crime. One only needs to read some blogs on The Tribune’s web site yesterday and connect them to comment made by Donald Trump a few days ago about the MS-13 gang to understand what’s behind all the murders and police killings in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. It is a dirty, wicked, nasty plot that hopefully backfired on the ones who planned it. One cannot cannot effectively lead a police force and not keep current of world wide events. You end up killing people only to find they were victims of a nasty plot. And the armed forces in this country must be vary of who they share their intelligence with and who they take directions from. There is much false information being put out about young men in the Bahamas and the Caribbean to support the murders and justify the police killings.
And that is the problem. You cannot separate and divide and discriminate and expect there to be peace and harmony. The fear in America is real. Parents have gone into panic and are shelling out up to $1,000 to purchase bulletproof clothing and backpacks for their children. Why does a 19 y/o need a rifle, especially when he has mental challenges?
The opioid epidemic was a conspiracy between licensed doctors (yes PhD’) and legal and licensed drug companies. The doctors prescribed the drugs (opioids) and the drug companies supplied them. When the patient became addicted to the drugs the doctor continues to give prescriptions to legally supply the patient with drugs that eventually kills him. The doctor gets rich, the drug cartel err... companies becomes filthy rich and the patient is DEAD! You are sick to try involve the Bahamas in this. In fact some medical experts are now saying patients would have feared better if they had smoked marijuana as opposed to taking opioids. St least they would still be alive.
BYW Canadians can now buy shares in marijuana stock. Even though legislation on legislation of marijuana has not been finalized and may not meet the deadline to allow legal sales of weed to begin July 1, stocks in marijuana production and sales have been on sale since last year. So if a Bahamian was to purchase stock in these companies can he or she be charged with cultivation or distribution of dangerous drugs under Bahamian law?
Royal bank has been paying 0 interest on fixed deposits for over two years and a fraction of 1 percent for several years before that. Most stocks on the Bahamas market pay between 2 and 4 percent under current market conditions. Well preference shares pay slightly more. So BoB is still a good buy at $1.00. Just dump the stock before the next elections!
