I hope they soon make it illegal for you to pay for someone else's wash or clothes drying at the wash house.. That seems like a good way to rinse money!

Bran has much more common sense than Reality-Check. And Bran is far from being a Sour Grape.

According to mudda_take_sic everyone in the country is greedy and corrupt. Wonder what she does for a living. The 600 jobs are much needed in Freeport as the tourism product seems damaged and far from being fixed. Get some people employed, get some cash injection into the economy. then enforce strict environmental controls and get Freeport back on its feet.

No one expected Marvin Dames and his team to come in and wipe out crime with a silver bullet under the first full moon. But what they didn’t expect and what they do not want is another minister of national security or commissioner of police to coy and start polishing numbers and polishing statistics then try to convince the Bahamian public that crime, including murder, is down. They want to feel that it is more safe and they want to see their sons (and now daughters) and husbands (and now wives) and other families members are no longer getting killed. Then they ( the Bahamian people) will come to you and to your team and say “Good job, ole boy. Thanks for making the Bahamas safe again!”

When we cut off our noses to spite our faces...persons on the islands have children in Nassau. In schools and colleges and the easiest and quickest way to send money was through the web shops account. Likewise persons is New Providence have families on the islands they support and need to send money to. And there are no banks. Is it illegal to send money throughout the Bahamas? What’s the difference between sending it on Bahamasair or with the mail boat captain. Except that the recipient gets it quicker. How many people have children abroad in college or even family members abroad and they go to the bank every week or every month and put money on dey credit or debit cards... so what’s the difference? Dumb asses!

Marvin Dames was misleading when he attempted to say that crime, including murder has decreased under the FNM's watch. The country has been averaging 11.66 murders ever since October of 2016. And this average continued through October 2017, putting the murder count for that 12 month period to 140. And while there has been a lull in killings in New Providence after the new commissioner said he would be targeting gangs and dismantling them, among other things, there were also the discoveries of dead bodies and a skull, that can push the murder count to 119 if classified as homicides. While everyone is anxious to see the murder count decline, they also want the decrease to be a sustainable one. While the minister of national security boasts of the 10 day lull in shootings he must be mindful that the country went though and entire month of July with no murders. They after that the killings resumed and mushroomed. But yes there is a new sheriff in town and the criminals are waiting to see how tough he is.

Well many other local producers are facing similar problems. And with the shoddy economy consumers are mostly price conscious more than anything else. They buy at the lowest price and worry about health and safety concerns later. And with Trumps massive plan to reduce taxes to businesses and individuals in the USA by billions of dollars before Christmas this may mean additional shifts in buyer behavior. Either products will get cheaper of they will disappear off the market due to competition. And hopefully the cost of living will go down across the board for many as China and Japan will have to reduce prices, some of which are already rock bottom, in order to compete.
