So on whose horseback is d'Aguilar riding with his lottery campaign? The Bahamian people voted against it and they will not let d'Aguilar force it on them as the PLP did with the web shops. The web shop owners invest many millions in their businesses and paid hefty taxes tobe licensed and regulated. Vince the washer man needs to get off his high horse and maintain the status quo about the webs shops. To force them back underground will be a dangerous thing...financially. And attempting to tax them out of existence will cause it to happen.

Did any of these break any laws?..orr..does people not have the right to seek gainful employment with any employer in the country? orr.. So why you mad? ORR!

The police have data that indicate that at least 42% of murders are gang related. Another 20% of so of killings stem from gang related murders: retaliation killings, drug turf war killing, etc., Yet very little is being done to attack and stamp out these gangs. Now apparently the gangs are becoming more aggressive and are targeting and attacking "softer targets." they are attacking school boys as well as friends and family members of gang members, mostly in retaliation shootings. So eliminating the gangs can reduce murder by more than 50%. In Indonesia little kids, boys and girls go hunting for snakes armed only with sticks and sometimes maybe a grub hoe and a machete. The intent is to bring the snakes back alive. But the young children are taught to concentrate on the head. Capture the head and hold on to it. And no matter how big the snake is or whatever else it does you have it captured as long as you continue to hold on to the snake's head. No matter how big the snake, find its head and keep a firm hold on it. And these little children return with snakes two and three times as long as they are, without getting any injuries to themselves. And that is the approach this country needs to take towards gangs. Find the leaders and cut the heads off, by whatever means necessary. Everyone in the country knows who at least one gang leader is. So the police must concentrate specifically on them. Arrest them for even the slightest infraction . As fast as they come out of jail send them back. Make it impossible for them to operate. Make them the despised ones in the community, to the point that they are scorned or rejected. Then watch the gangs fall off and the murders decrease to near nil.

This confirms that there needs to be more intervention at the junior and high school levels. There needs to be more communication and cooperation between parents, the school administrators and the police. This is just one in many who lost his life because he was being bullied and harassed by gangs. And once they target a young boy their assault is brutal and relentless. Sometimes the boys see the only way out as joining the gang or resisting and getting killed, just like how this young boy lost his life. The number of young boys who had to leave school or that are being forced to join gangs is not small. There are many who have quit school because they were being beat up and pressured while in school or after school was let out. Parents can confirm they had sons come home from school without shoes (clarks) belts and with stories of having their lunch money taken daily. The school boys may be doing the harassing in school but they have the support of older gang members on the outside. And once the 'target' in school does not cooperate they are reported to the older gang members and some will end up like this young man. So the police may need to put task forces in the schools to uncover the gang members and either weed them out or deal with them accordingly. Then trace the gangs back to the leaders andput them away, else they will continue to kill the young men.

Are you trying to say (Anthony Ferguson) that after a decade is senseless killings, the police are just now trying to tie murders together and find a common thread.? Every murder suspect should have to answer why (motive). They should be made to say who else was involved or if they acted alone. Was it a paid hit and if so put out by whom and for what reason. Was the victim the right target and if so was he the only target. More importantly police should try find out in every murder where the killer got the gun. And then track back to where every single gun got into this country. And then there should be arrests made for gun trafficking, for gang leaders, for gang participation and for drugs. Likewise similar profiles should be built for each murder victim. Age where he/she lived, motive for killing. Were they the intended target. Was anyone else targeted. Were they involved in gangs, drugs, or a triangle love affair or some other activities than may have led to their demise. Then the police must get the information out there. To the young people and to the parents, who in most cases will be single mothers. Let the parents know if their children are involved in certain criminal activities, specifically gangs and drugs, they can become a victim of murder. And even more so if they are a gang member they may be required to do a ‘hit’ or murder. There are sufficient retired police officers who can be r-recruited to visit the schools and troubled communities. Many boys are recruited to gangs in the fifth and sixth grades. They are too young and green to understand the consequences of their actions at such an early age. Every police officer should be made aware of the common motto of each and every gang: to create murder, mischief and mayhem. To disrupt civil society. And so the police should act accordingly.

Shopping is different when you have no where to store perishables. one onion, one sweet pepper, one tomato, two potatoes. Then you buy smaller jars of mayonaise and mustard. 1/2 dozen eggs and the 8 slice packs of cheese. You may have to throw away more unused stuff, but your light bill is cut in half.

And if one really wants to play with the numbers, the projected murders for 2017 has ***risen*** slightly from 141.25 to 141.83, meaning the country is more likely to record over 141 murders in 2017 rather than 140 or 141...this is very bothersome, disturbing, mind unsettling especially to those who expected change under the new government, especially to those who have lost more than one family member or friend, and also to those who are trying to restrain others from vigilante behavior and encouraging them to allow the law to take its course. Yes almost half a year has passed under the new administration. Yes it has been almost 6 months already..Hopefully this is the storm and the calm is coming soon.

The last thing this country needs is someone to try create an illusion that crime, or more specifically, murders are on the decrease. And to do this by the manipulation of numbers when people’s sons and daughters and friends and coworkers and even the little ones are being shot up and killed. The country needs a significant enough decrease in crime and murder such that the average man or woman on the street can look and see there is a difference. They can feel more safe. And the killers and other criminals get the clear and precise message that crime will not be tolerated.
