Wilson ain't satisfied with taking roofs from over people heads and destroying their holy places of worship but he want to take bread outta people's mouth too. But least we forget he supports a prime minister who says after you go on your knees and pray to God for something, you still have to come back to him (to get it). And that seems to be his true thinking as he has represented one of the most depressed areas in the country for most of his political life. And rather than support a program to uplift the people, he seems to want to keep the people poor and dependent. Begging for crumbs from off his fingers. Wow!

John says...

For a man who has a reputation of breaking down churches and people's homes, Franky Wilson has no moral authority to speak on tax breaks for the poor. Secondly his companies benefit from hundreds of millions in tax breaks under the Hawsksbill Agreement in Grand Bahama and under other heads of agreement so why is he not concerned about his tax benefits bankrupting the Bahamas? Minnis' plan may be rough and need fine tuning but something needs to be done to help out the poor people financially in this country and to draw businesses and commerce in the inner cities. And at the same time government needs to revisit the agreement with Freeport and a number of other island developments that have come to a standstill or are yet to drive a stake in the ground. The Bahamas Government seem to be taking many of the responsibilities of the port authority rather than holding that body's feet to the fire and causing Gran Bahama to get back on its feet again. That what Frankly Wilson and the PLP should have concerned themselves with.

John says...

The success of the Vat tax is because many Bahamians are willing to rescue their country from financial distress. They don't want to see it fail. So businesses and individuals were willing to partner with the government under the premise that by working together the problem could be fixed and the country would not go over the financial cliff. But guess who did not keep their share of the bargain?

*5 Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: “You are just in these judgments, O Holy One, you who are and who were; 6 for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.” 7 And I heard the altar respond: “Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments.” 8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him. 10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony*

Perry Christie, never in his wildest dreams imagined that there would be such a massive shift from him and the PLP as has happened in the past few weeks. He never thought Hubert Minnis could ever organize and polarize his party with so much cohesion. But that is not the end of the story. A lot of people are waering their PLP shirts and attending PLP rallies and pretending to be supporters only to get election goodies and to cover their backsides should the PLP win and they don't plan to be left out in the cold. Hubert Minnis is in the mall shopping for a rocking chair for Peerry, Bernard Nottage, Bradley Roberts and some of them young ones too. They young set gonna sit on the step and be taught. Voters will not look beyond High Crime and High Unemployment and corruPTION! That is what you and the PLP campaigned on that you wouold fix, crime, that you will stop the murders, that you will put Bahamians back to work..and your government will be accountable.

On PM: PLP govt is not perfect

Well, well well, Perry Chrisite needs to find another campaign strategy. Looks like the one to attack Hubert Minnis isn't working. Whoever would have thought the FNM would have grown into this strong and powerful force overnight? And the more Christie attacks Minnis, the stronger the red team seems to grow. Even Loretta Butler and the rebel seven must be having regrets now.

At this point it seems like Perry Christie will not only NOT be prime minister after May Elections 2017, but he will also lose his seat in Centerville. People just can't seem to stomach him anymoreand, of course, he is the easiest person to vent their frustrations on. These paid propagandist on here getting out of control. Some of y'all need to go back home and visit the FEMA camps..yea you!

Let me tell y'all one thing and yinna could say if you agree or disagree: If it wasn't for the Bahamian people exercising their power to govern and voicing their opinions, supporting some things and strongly opposing others, this country would be in a far worser, yes worser position than it is today. The PLP came to power as a rudderless ship. And rather than listening to the Bahamian people at first, it went a whoring after strange gods. The bills they were trying to pass were foreign and the people they were listening to were also foreign. Not foreign in the sense of not being Bahamian, but foreign in the sense of not having Bahamian ideology. The spy bill and the gender bill are perfect examples. So the people got up and got into the wheel room (if thas wat dey is call it) and they told Perry Chrisite and his crew, "look y'all may be steering this ship, but we telling you where to go." And for the most part the bahamian people were able to give direction and change course. Else the devastation would be far much worse. And The PLp may not even have made it through 5 years. And so Bahamians must be proud for that. And they must realize you cannot just elect a government anymore and go to sleep and lead them to govern. The seas are too rough and the crew may be persuaded to go off course. So regardless of who is elected this will be another voyage where all hands MUST be on deck!
