Can you answer this: what single element of BEC has improved since BPL took over? Power outages have definitely increased for sure and now occur even during the coolest months or even days of the year. Persons whose power was off for two or three weeks during October got bills the same as when the power was on for the entire month. Others saw their bills double and even triple. But if a store was to add a few cents on to a bottle of water or a dollar on a bag of ice, they would be accused of price gourging.

Better to be private and keep the lights on than to be public and sit in the dark all night..yes or no?

Well now Mike Halkitis can now take his seat among Perry Christie, V. Alfred Gray, and Obie Wilchcombe as some as the biggest liars or, in the least the greatest misleaders, in the history of politics in the history of the Bahamas. Never mind Obie Wiclhcombe on his smooth and trained journalistic voice and demeanor he is like a wolf in sheep's clothing. He does the same things he accuses others in opposition of doing. A well trained snake in the grass you might say.. They complain like virgin school girls about the same things they are doing because they know how effective it is..he juice you aye?

They tell you capital punishment is no longer in effect but yet every young man that is executed in this country is a prolific offender. So how is it that vilagante justice is allowed (executions in broad daylight) but the state is not allowed to carry out capital punishment.. (i will take a trip to australia while u think of an answer)

Can't we all just get along?

Graham Weatherford must only be filling in the gap. He does not appeal to the average Bahamian and some of his ideas and thinking is far outfield. Even as a chronic caller.

There is no way Loretta Butler-Turner is going to sit out this election. Remember her whole rants and raving exercises against Minnis was to become leader of the FNM and get more power. So there is no way she is going to not run this election and be a seatless wonder for the next five years. Her alliance with Branville McCartney and the DNA seems to not allow her a nomination in that party even after getting Branville in the senate as opposition leader. Her idea of forming a new party does not seem a good idea after all. Her chances of being let back in the FNM and getting a nomination are slimmer than an ice cube surviving in hell. So either she has to break ties with the FNM and run as an independent or break ties even more and join with the PLP. They will welcome her with open arms as they will view it as a further weakening of the FNM and as a chance to silence one of the most vocal opponents.

Many Bahamians have stopped being outraged or even shocked by the high incidence of murder in this country. Some say, "Chil'e if das wat day want do, shoot up an kill one a'nudder let them go right ahead and kill one a'nudder, like cats and dogs. Das day biznez..jus have to stay out dey way." But can the killings go on unabated. Young men falling like dominoes, one almost every day for the month of February so far. And the Bahamas is not alone in this tragedy. Almost every city in the US that have high concentrations of Black residents are suffering the same fate: Detroit, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Compton, New York, Miami, Memphis, Los Angeles and yes Chicago too. And Even in the Caribbean with Jamaica and Haiti and trinidad. And the underlying factors in all these places is high unemployment, a culture of drugs and the infiltration of gangs..and yes the mimicking of the thug life as portrayed by young, black rappers. Of the 756 murders in Chicago in 2016, Five Hundred and Fifty Eight remain unsolved. And while 61 of the victims were female 558 were black males. Eighty percent of the murders were by shooting, 61 victims were stabbed and 8 were burnt to death. Twelve of the murder victims were under 12 years old and while the majority of the shooting victims were shot in the head or chest area, some were shot in their private parts, others in the back or in the buttocks. Trump plans to send the military into Chicago if the killings does not stop. They already have the profiles of over 18,000 young men, mostly black, who are associated with the gangs that appear to be behind most of the killings. The question is what is going to be done here in the Bahamas. Many believe that many of the murders that happen here are gang related and the only way to stop them is to stamp out the gangs. Start by flushing out their leaders and giving them stiff sentences.
