Obviously it is not plain as day as young men continue to get gunned down and slaughtered, even by daylight. And now family members are also being shot and killed as human life has no value. The problem is firstly there is general crime. Some young men get caught up in this activity and then end up getting shot or even killed. Then you have the drug culture. Again young men get caught up either by using drugs and becoming dependent on the substance and becoming in debt to the drug man. The drug supplier would then recruit the the young men to work for him. They would either be required to sell drugs for the dealer, carry out crimes or even carry out hits on rival drug dealers. Then there are the gangs which probably pose the most threat to the lives of young men. These are groups of men (gangs) whose main purpose is to carry out crime, launch attacks on rival gangs and generally wreak havoc and fear on society. Many young men are attracted to gangs under the false guise that gangs offer them security and also a sense of belonging. This is especially important to young men who come from homes where the family is dysfunctional or the father is absent. Many join gangs at the age of 12, 13.years. But it is not until later that they come to learn what gang banging is all about. The crime, the drugs, the murders and executions. And by then it is too late. If they are given instructions to do a crime , even carry out a hit and they refuse or they 'mess up', they, themselves might be killed. if they try to leave the gang they are also killed. And now there is talk about one gang having a civil war. That one set of the gang members have turned on another faction and that may be the reason behind the recent increase in murders. So mothers continue to lose their sons and the country continues to mourn as its streets flow with blood.

Will take a miracle for this place to be completed and open before January, 2017, But it is good that persons are still investing in the economy, creating jobs and seeing healthy returns on their investment. The unemployment rate in the US is around 5%. This is the lowest its been since the 1990's (pre-Reagan) and is expected to fall even lower as the economy accelerates in anticipation of Donald Trumps promise to spent billions to revamp US industries and rebuild infrastructure. This is what China did to starve of a recession when their economy started to slide downwards. Apparently it worked as China's economy has been stabilized and e growth rate of 6% is expected in 2017. Not only will Donald Trump inherit an economy that is booming but one that is over performing The stock market has set days of new records since his election. Many believe his promise to cut taxes and red tape for businesses that remain in the US and "punish" those that move jobs overseas in helping to drive the economy up and the unemployment numbers down. Even as discouraged workers come back int the workforce and start seeking employment the numbers under Obama's leadership are going down. While unemployment numbers are down here due to hurricane Mathew's clean up and restoration, and is expected to go down even more as local businesses take on additional staff for the Christmas holidays, the future still remains bleak, especially with the uncertainity of Bah Mar's opening Many smaller businesses still continue to struggle to remain open and government has not made it easy for them with heavy tax burden and reporting requirements. especially for Vat and the tax compliance certificate.

If they wanted basic decorations they should have given that contract to The Stapledon School. The children could have made it a school project and the much needed funds could be used by the school. The end result would have been 10 times better, at least.

Hope they find them (who did this) and the punishment fits the crime a thousand times over. No reason for this type of senseless, bloody shooting and murder in this country. What can a 16 y/o do that warrants his entire family being shot up like dogs and some killed?. Find them and put them away for ever! Not only the shooters but the ones who put the hit out.

The fact is there have been 22 murders or so since October to now. According to word on the streets many of the killings are gang related. Information is that one faction of a gang is wearing with another. Whether that part about the gang war is true or not, th fact is a number of young men who have been killed are associated with the gang that is said to be at odds with itself. One as young as 16 was posting pictures making the hand signs of a gang and so were several others. So then the focus needs to be on gang activity. Not only an effort to identify and flush out gang leaders, but to discourage young men from joint gangs or even getting caught up in the crossfire of gang warfare. It's a pity that after experiencing one of the most peaceful summers and even a month without any killings, the year should end with so much bloodshed.

The problem is government cannot seem to be able to stop the hemmoraging of public funds or even slow it to the point of having it under control. It is like pouring water 💦 in a bottomless pit. Water and sewerage claims they have not stopped 80% of the water that was going missing and now have the task of convincing consumers to come back on the system. And that their water is now clean, safe and the supply is reliable. Government needs to take a similar initiative with public funds. Set a goal to ensure that 90% of all government funds are accounted for and in the same vein ensure th government gets value for money on its expenditures. Aim to make honestly and accountability the order of the day, as opposed to corruption and cronyism and nepotism. Then government spending can be controlled and taxes reduced.

Obviously when the PM realized how large (and successful) the march was going he tried to cut it off at the last minute. His efforts failed and the March was a black eye for government, especially with so many tourists in town and who witnessed some part of the event or another. The number of murders occurring this weekend alone and continuing throughout the day proves something is desperately wrong in this country. This latest wave of murder started in October just before the hurricane and seems to be getting worse rather than slowing up. And despite the economy being disrupted by Hurricane Mathew and many being affected negatively, the government seems determined in its assault on these businesses in search for more revenue. Many businesses are on the verge of closing like one electricity bill from being bankrupt. Even despite there being no strong opposition with a clear plan for the country many feel that giving this government another term is major disaster. Too many taxes not enough productivity from government.

John says...

Then before you can pass judgment on the people you must examine the government in power. Are they like King Samuel a representative of God? Or are they like the kings who God warned them about?

'Exodus 16:8
Moses said, "This will happen when the LORD gives you meat to eat in the evening, and bread to the full in the morning; for the LORD hears your grumblings which you grumble against Him. And what are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against the LORD."
Zakariah 10:8
"When I whistle to them, they will come running, for I have redeemed them. From the few who are left, they will grow as numerous as they were before."

John says...

The voice of people who fear God and keep his laws, is the voice of God. Remember the reason why the people rejected Samuel as their king, which indeed is what is happening in the Bahamas today. They wanted to have a young king and be like the other nations. Samuel was old, but God was older. And yet wiser.
