Good work that the police caught at least one on the suspects hopefully they will soon find and arrest the other two. Cable Beach has become a hotspot for crime recently as a number of cars in various parking lots have been broken into. Shoppers have also been robbed when entering or exiting various businesses and even persons working in the area, including maids, gardeners and even construction workers have been robbed.
The biggest contributor to crime, violent crime in this especially, was when our police adopted the American style of stop, search, harass, intimidate and seek to arrest any black person. This was all the way back in the 1980's. So young black men were stopped by the police on the way to work, from work, to and from school and church and they were searched and intimidated in the middle of the street. innocent most of the time but robbed of their dignity. And if some flenched even a muscle they were arrested and had trumped charges put on them that they had to spend many years back and forth to the courts to defend. Many have convictions for small amounts of marijuana dating back 30-40 years ago. Today even though marijuana is legal and being cultivated and sold in the US wholesale, our police here still continue the stop, search and harass and intimidate our young men without probable cause. Searching for weapons or quantities of contraband does not require going in a suspects wallet, requiring him to remove his shoes and socks in the middle of the street or even feeling in his groin area in the most invading and dehumanizing way. Some young men have their first experience of aggressive and violent behavior with the police. When you treat persons like dogs they will start to act like dogs and will eventually bring fleas home. That being said some men go to prison for their own good. some are so full of anger and so desolate they can no longer function in society. They choose to be put away because they believe they cannot cope. May not be right but it is real. Just look around at the new amount of young men walking around the streets "out of their heads' since the passing of hurricane Mathew.. . "Isaiah 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst."

Just look what is happening with BTC as the reality of competition reveals itself. Rather than cut back on spending and make an attempt to protect its revenue streams, BTC is doing the complete opposite. They continue to spend like drunken sailors (yes plural) and they are unraveling their own sources of income. Rather than maintaining them and waiting to see what the competition does with their products BTC has adopted a spirit og giving everything away.. In a few short weeks, they have made calling a cell phone from a land line toll free, cell -to- cell between their customers free, reduced texting to one cent per text on their most busy day (Fridays) and are practically giving away data. Obviously the company is in a state of panic. So much so they have engaged in what only could be false advertising. They are advertising the I Phone 7 for $479.00, less 10 percent today. But when you go in they tell you you can only get the $479.00 price if you upgrade your package to their most expensive package ($139.99 ) Even if you already have this package you will have to pay $879.00 for an I Phone 7. So why would you want to upgrade your package to one that includes mostly texts and call time when these are virtually free for the most part? every one uses Wats App instead of texting. So BTC will be making an extra $80-$100 a month of you. Meaning you may as well pay the $800 price for the phone and not upgrade. Then NewCo is also advertising that they will have Iphones for $400.00 come Monday November 21, 2016...You think they gonna pull the same game?
BoB use to be one of the few (and rare) stars in the crown of the Bahamas government. Not only was it performing well as a bank, but it was growing its assets. The minority shareholders grew comfortable with their investment and look forward to the bank paying regular dividends as well as increases in the price of its stock. Then the corrupt, criminal minded, lawless PLP came to power and raped and ravished the bank. Left its kitty torn open, exposed and worthlessly empty. And rather than go fix the damage they done by going after those who got illicit loans from the bank, they continue to do more damage by raping another corporation to replace the stolen funds. What happens when it is your time to retire and you find that NIB is broke because of the actions of a criminal supporting corrupt, reckless and lawless government?
Despite the government collecting close to a billion in VAT in 18 months, not even a small dent has been put in the national debt. More mysterious is the fact that government cannot explain what it is doing with your VAT!! Now there is talks in the wind that the government is looking to double VAT (to 15%) early next year, among other things. Puerto Rico's economy has collapsed and many natives of that island are running to the US mainland for security. Brazil booming economy has busted because of corruption and people in Venezuela can't even buy food when they have money because their currency in valueless. The government of India is recalling its currency because they believe there is more counterfeit in circulation than legitimate notes but Indians are reluctant to turn their money in. There's mass corruption and so they don't trust their government. Everyone knows what happened in Greece and a Trump election win put The economy of Mexico under great stress and some decline. How far down the list is the Bahamas?
Someone needs to put the entire PLP cabinet on a rudderless ship along with their blind supporters and and the management of BPL and leave them in the middle of the ocean until they find themselves. On reviewing several of my recent BEC/BPL bills I noticed the fuel surcharge was more that the charges for electricity. YES don't say WTF because I already did! Even the Chinese couldn't figure that one out! But not only that my October bill is more than the bill for September! Our power was off in October from the hurricane struck , around the 7th, until November 3 rd. And the bill is more than the previous month. Davis is full of it and so is BPL!

Sometimes you would just wake up and hope this entire Bah Mar saga would be over and done with. But is seems the affair is getting *curiouser and curiouser* everyday. Among the biggest blunders to date are: (1) allowing such a massive project to be constructed in one phase rather than going in phases. (2) allowing so many thousands of Chinese workers to come into the country to do construction while so many unemployed Bahamians stood idle and hungry. (3) Government failing to remain impartial when the dispute erupted between the developer and the contractor and eventually the bank. (4) siding with China Exim Bank and China Construction Company in the developers attempt to seek bankruptcy protection and causing the possession of the property to pass from the hands of the original developer to the Chinese. Even at this eleventh hour failing to seek a reconcilement with the bank and the developer as the surest way to get the project up and running. And if the information is correct on the new developers (being linked to one of China's largest and most bloody mafias) then there should be a reconsideration.

doesn't this severely contradict the chief's statement. "Chief Superintendent Clayton Fernander said the public has “no need to be afraid”. If you are being slaughtered and not involved in any way except happening to be "in the wrong place at the wrong time..that is plenty reason to be afraid and not go out unless when necessary. But what exactly are the police doing to combat gang activity and gang warfare? Many believe that several of the recent murders are gang related and retaliations, to say the least. . "
