The man is losing his mind, he is a mental retard. He is delusional, out of touch with reality, economically uninformed, crazy financially, lost and clueless and needs at least 12 weeks complete bed rest (and respirdol treatment) in a secured, well secured, albeit mental institution. Whoever is advising home is equally asinine. They must not have toured this country and saw the damage of the last two hurricanes aye. People have no light, no water, no clothes, no roof, no vehicles 🚗 nowhere to call home. Chil out of school and grandma need medication and the best solution you and your overpaid clowns could come up with is "we gatta tax them more ". Go tax ya Bah Mar ...real talk

On Govt considers a hurricane tax

Well if one was to take a cue from BPL the recovery could drag on forever. Can you ever imagine the national disgrace of this company in responding to a national emergency? What a national embarrassment. They report in the media that power has been restored in certain areas and you drive through only to find the area is still in darkness and only pockets of lights are on. And in a number of areas most of the businesses are still on generators. Imagine not being to operate if they had no generator. And what is more puzzling is one night an area has power then it is in darkness for days after. Seems like Cable has the best response to getting their customers reconnected. BTC says even customers who had complaints for phone and Internet service before the storm will have to wait until all the loose wires in the streets and across the roads are cleared up before they get a service call. So some people still have no light, no phone, no internet, no cable and some don't have roofs or furniture.

Maybe they are singing for their supper, then. This government.

Just hope more problems are not created by the minister trying to cater to and be sympathetic to the Bahamas being victim to the storm. Yes lots of people lost close to everything if not all. Homes are destroyed. But some students have course work that must be completed to be prepared for scheduled exams. It is sometimes better to get the majority of students back in the classroom and on schedule and use the weekends to allow those who are severely affected to catch up. Some who may even opt to drop out of the term and start afresh in January .

Early yesterday the rain storm was so severe one could not see the Bah Mar buildings as you drove past. Then before noon main Bay Street was under water and hundreds of tourists who has disembarked cruise ships waded their way through Bay Street. The ares from the Sheraton, where the Chinese has constructed the parking garage was extremely flooded all the way to Nassau Street. This area seems to flood now, even with short downpours because the workers constructed curbs and walkways without proper drainage. The rainstorm intensified and there were wash outs especially in the western end of the island. Then checking the Weather Channel there was a warning posted from earlier in the day about severe rainstorms and possible flooding over several Bahamian islands. So if the radar in New Providence is not working the Met office should not drop the ball and leave Bahamians in the dark and panic. When the roads started to flood, many persons like in Hanna Road and Tropical gardens and the area North of the airport runway panicked and though it was another sea surge.

On Radar could not track rainstorm

Smith is basically rehashing what I said last week. What he didn't acknowledge is the rebuilding and recovery exercise could be either boom or bust depending on how tightly government grabs hold of the reins of the economy and navigates through recovery. It must give incentives like tax breaks and exemptions and even donations to encourage property owners to move speedily to make repairs and restore their properties. Insurance companies must also not linger in making payouts so that repairs can get construction up to the level such that additional workers will be hired. Then the spinoffs in other sectors can be realized. But government and the private sector must also be mindful of what needs to happen in the economy some 6-9 months from now when restoration and recovery work will be winding down. Some projects have to be on stream to hire the now employed workers and not allow them to go back to a state of idleness and the lines of unemployment.

Not making light of the situation but Sarkis should realize by now The Chinese are resolved on what they are doing with Bah Mar, himself and this country. They drew the government in on the conspiracy unwittingly and now the government is no longer saving face. They have pledged their loyalty and support to the Chinese. What is obvious is the Chinese want Izmirilian out. They want control of Bah Mar and unless Sarkis gets a strong and powerful legal team together and persues his interest in a non-Bahamian court, he will lose every penny he invested in the project. The Chinese are working to have him declared an enemy of the state, if only for trying to reclaim his interest in Bah Mar. They see him as a stumbling block and the only obstacle to having full control of Bah Mar. Should the government plead (not bow) to the Chinese on his behalf and try them to return at least a half billion of his money?

Production of the Samsung Note 7 has been discontinued. Persons who still have the devices are ask to stop using the devices, remove the batteries and return them for a full refund. This recall and discontinued production of the Note 7 can cost Samsung some $6 billion in lost revenue and refunds. In the main time Apple sales and stock prices soars.

Parts of main Bat Street have been under water from early today. Parts of Western Bay Street have washed away. The road that runs along the airport (going towards Solomons) is flooded for at least 1/4 mile. Parts have also washed out

Another night of cheese and crackers because of BPL. Not because you can't afford anything better but if you eat after you see what's going you would want to vomit
