The fact is that the Web Shop (business) is not a rosy picture as one was led to believe. It is not always a cash cow. First off it is very costly business to get into ,and because of the large volumes of cash that is handled, bank-like policies and procedures must be in place to avoid 'shrinkage' (ok tief'in). Also the web shops themselves have engaged in an expand and conquer mission where they try to open as many stores as possible and that is also costly and causing casualties. Shops are virtually cannibalizing each other. While Sebas strategy appears 'greedy' since he seems to want to conquer the market rather than maintaining a fair market share, like lowers web shop, it is his innovations and creativity that is drawing more customers to his shops. And he is not involved in just the gaming industry but construction and other ventures
When you drive past the white elephant (Bah Mar) everyone must attest that if anything good came out of Bah Mar (yet), it is the well landscaped, well maintained and properly manicured green spaces leading up to the elephant. Many Bahamians and tourists take advantage of this area for jogging, photo sessions, lunch and whatever. Then just look at the long stretch of road heading to the airport. So dull, unattractive, drab and most of the time unkempt. It is good that Potters Cay is being transformed into a cleaner, better looking, safer and hopefully better kept area. It is time for Bahamians to get something back. Many tourist frequent the area as well only to find that after having one or two Kaliks and crack conch or conch salad, there is no place (clean and sanitary enough) for them to 'go'. So hopefully the plans will include public rest rooms that will be properly cleaned and maintained and not locked up, like many other public facilities around the island. Too bad there's controversy about the astronomical price tag of this project but at least some of the tax payers money is going back to the taxpayers. Does anyone recall how much Hubert Ingraham spent to revitalize and modernize the Fish fry at Arawak Cay.?
Bahamians got value for money with that venture and it is still paying dividends.

Minnis needs to hire himself a press officer. No one is celebrating murder count (at least hope not). But everyone should be acknowledging the fact that murder in this country has drastically declined. Crime is the tail that has been wagging the dog over several administrations both PLP and FNM and murder, yes murder has touched so many people on this island, leaving many individuals who has lost more than one family member, friends or coworkers, walking zombies. Lives snuffed out forever to cold blooded and senseless killings. Minnis, and every other citizen or resident in this country should join forces with the police and the administration and ensure that murder continues to decline and crime in general. Some of the dynamics that has led to the reduction in murder include the fact that many of the old gangsters are either dead or in jail. Others have left the country and others are too old to gang bang. They are fathers and granddads and many have, themselves experienced the tragedy of having family or friends gunned down. The younger males seem to steer away from gangster life styles and many of them are turning to more positive activities. The police continue to garner results on criminal activity and records will show that most of the murders committed over the past several months have been solved. And the courts are doing their role in bringing murderers to justice. They are meeting out heavy jail time to killers. Many of the cases being brought to trial are recent murders and this allows the family and other survivors to bring closure to the loss of loved ones. Yes everyone is concerned that there were 74 murders so far this year. But yet they should be thankful that it is 33 less lives lost than this time last year. Bahamians should work together until there is no killings in this country.
Do you know what BEC/BPL is running their generators off now is basically sludge? Bunker C fuel is what is left after they refine off all the other products, gaseoline, kerosene ,lpg and even consumer grade diesel. It really should be dumped and Bunker C is not used to generate commercial power plants anymore except in places like the Bahamas. Why? Because it costs them more to dispose of it than they costs them to dump it (in the Bahamas). They add a few chemicals to it to reduce the smoke as it burns and the sulphur that turns to acid when mixed with gases in the atmosphere. See your car paint peeling? That's acid raid from the sulphuric acid in the air. and the rain. And guess what? They (BPL/BEC and their cohorts (partners in crime).. And guess what, while they are dumping bunker C on you, they are charging you for it at a premium. Are we there yet?
So if someone tries to sell you a Samsung note7 before September 20, it is not the one that has been fixed. Best to wait a few more weeks anyway just to be on the safe side.
