The China Bank should show good faith and pay the small creditors what is due them. If according to reports from Christie and other sources the bank intends to recover every cent on the dollar from Bah Mar then, in good faith, they should pay off the small creditor s and not have them sit around like beggars.
If The Turner-Sands team loses this bid at leadership of the FNM where will this leave them politically? If Minnis loses then he can either bow out of politics, join another party (preferably the DNA) or sit at the back of the bus and leave the driving to those who think they are better drivers or they know the road better. But as to be expected in politics, this will not be the end of the leadership row and others my seek to wrestle power from Turner-Sands. Just remember election soon come. Silly season is almost upon us.
Bran may be wishful thinking...remember all the chaos in the FNM is about the leadership post. Some people want to get there before there time and some persons want to get there because they believe the FNM stands a very good chance of winning this election. The persons that controls the purse strings control the power and the party and so things will fall in place in time for the FNM to get ready for election. In fact boots are already on the ground. And if Minnis emerges as leader then the party will have no choice but support him, (unless they want make him another Donald Trump, who says he is prepared to go it alone). And if Butler-Turner wins the leadership she will have a lot of work to do. The majority of voters in this country are women and it will take a lot of convincing for them to believe the country is ready for a woman prime minister.
No Island in the Bahamas has suffered more under the PLP than Eleuthera, South Eleuthera especially. More than two years ago the prime minister took a very large entourage to South Eleuthera, with huge promises, help hope and economic relief. Today nothing has happened. In fact the silence is deafening. there are no boots on the ground and no showels in the soil. Only thru their own ambitions and the fact that they have been in survivor ship mode for so long, since the 1960's and many are able to make ends meet. Many younger residents have moved to New Providence and other islands and even the Us to seek a living and so they are able to help support their families back in Eleuthera. So this is a time they need to pull together and get this party right! From the leadership down.
Those who wanted another leadership race should pay for the convention. And those who feel the need to replace the current government should make donations. Come election time the government will have the public treasury at its disposal, the newly licensed numbers boys, the Chinese, other foreign investors who need favor, of course and mega rich supporters like Franky Wilson, Bradley Roberts and Brave Davis, The Maynards and many more. Many who have stakes in Bah Mar and other projects under the PLP. They will dig deep in deep pockets to ensure this government stays in power so 'dey could finish get dey tings." If FNM or DNA supporters play cute with financing then this government will see another 5 years. And remember Christie has everything bet on this election because come 2022, he will be too old to run, especially as leader.
