"Caroline "Tula" Cossey (born 31 August 1954) is an English model. She is one of the world's most well known[2] trans women, having appeared in a James Bond film and been the first to pose for Playboy. Since being outed by British tabloid News of the World, Cossey has fought for her right to legally marry and to be recognised by the law as a woman.Cossey was born Barry Kenneth Cossey in Brooke, Norfolk, and raised as male. Cossey started transitioning after befriending a post-operative trans woman.[3] By 17, Cossey was receiving hormone therapy, living full-time in a female gender role and had begun a career as a showgirl at a London nightclub.[3] Despite initial shock, Cossey's parents were eventually supportive.[1] Following breast augmentation surgery, Cossey worked as a showgirl in Paris and as a topless dancer in Rome to save up for sex reassignment surgery (SRS). After years of hormonal and psychological treatment, and legally changing her name, Cossey had her final surgery on 31 December 1974 at Charing Cross Hospital, London.[1]"

Something has to be fundamentally wrong with government's fiscal policy. They say when the US coughs The Bahamas catches cold but the unemployment rate in the US is 4.7% (near full employment), while it is 16% here. Government cannot do anything permanent with any deficit or any other spending until it addresses unemployment and also the number of businesses that are continuing to close.

Miller grew up during the times when being gay was not tolerated and it was taught to be unnatural and UnChristain. Some think other factors such as single parent homes, influence of movies and music, peer pressure also play a role in forming a person's sexuality. Another trend that is developing among young, gay men is they are becoming celibate. They don't want to be bothered with sex or even being in a relationship. While the Chinese was still working on the National Stadium, in fact when it was still in its early stages, a very known supporter of the PLP , warned the government of getting in bed with the Chinese and allowing them to wave so much power in this country. He felt like it was 'a curse' for Chinese to come into the country and build a national stadium while so many Bahamians were unemployed.. But heed was not taken and while the stadium was completed, Bah Mar was not so fortunate, and despite the major disappointments and problems and economic losses with Bah Mar the Chinese have been allowed to venture on another major project while holding Bah Mar and the Bahamian people hostages. The Chinese has lost nothing by Bah Mar sitting idle, because most of the $2.5 billion spent on the project has reverted back to China in the form of labor and the purchase of materials. The longer this drags on, the less chance of Izmirilian recovering any of his $850 million. The time and economic opportunities lost while the project sits idle will never be recovered.The government was wrong in allowing the Chinese to get so much foothold in the country. They are more wrong for allowing the "Pointe" to continue, by the same contractor, without getting resolution for Bah Mar. China is in recession. the world has lost its appetite for its products. The Bahamas must protect its economy and not allow the Chinese to drag this country deeper into recession as its own economy slides for the second straight year.

When I mentioned since last year that the country was going into in a recession, while it had not yet climbed out of the one that started in 2008 persons tended to brush it off with statements like 'lets not talk hard times on ourselves or the country." But the facts are there, the economy is sliding for the second straight year and the 'big grab' government is taking out of the economy with VAT and other increases in taxes and costs of living will eventually hit the economic fan. One of the reason the recession is so well disguised is Bahamians have become resailent and, even though battle fatigued, they have become accustomed to hard times. Many are living without electricity, their cable and phones are off, the cupboards are empty and they live from day to day mostly on hope. Many small and medium stores have closed and many have not seen a profit in almost a decade. And there is no help or hope on the horizon. Unemployment is at an all time high, especially among the young people and even more so among the young male population. Hence the challenge in crime and criminal activity. The biggest mistake the government made was trying to tax itself out of a recession. While this yielded positive results in the short term, it is nothing more than a depressed economy feeding on itself.. If there is no real growth and reduction in the unemployment numbers, trouble stands ahead.
