Pray tell me: If the two persons at the center of this 'espo'se' were such good friends of DPM Davis, then what caused them to become turncoats and squeal the plot allegedly hatched by ne Peter Nygard?. What inducement, promise, monetary benefit, enlargement, pies in the sky were offered to "toggie" and "Bobo" to go against their 'good friend' Davis and secretly
make video recordings to expose the Nygard's plot to kill, maim, scare, threaten and otherwise harm the said individuals? And the fact that all these allegaions have come to surface through the efforts and funding of "Save the Bays", which is almost solely funded by the virtual complainant, makes their credibility less than a note from the man in the moon!

On PM 'promised' land to Nygard

@ too much kalik: why should I watch the videos again to try convince myself if they are genuine or what. Since they have been submitted to the courts, they have the mechanisms to determine if the videos are genuine or if they have been edited or staged. The efforts you and your cohorts put into trying to sell the story convince me already that something is amiss. The truth needs no such defence. The only thing you and your cohorts did not do is stand on a street corner and sell The Tribune...better yet give away free copies.

If government had spent $20 million of the money it spent on BAMSI to assist existing farms increase their output and increase their distribution it could have put a significant dent in the food import bill. And since there are so many persons on the Food Assistance Program, why not give out vouchers so that these recipe ants get local produce as part of the program. There are tinned and tinned of produce going to waste every month and since the government has to pay the farmers for at least some of it why not put it to use? The quality of the produce is not bad and the only thing that may be required is more distribution points.

The biggest shock will come when first quarter VAT returns are filed. This will show a contraction in the amount of VAT filed last year after the insurance companies contributions are deducted. It may also show a reduction in the number of businesses filing. Government cannot continue increasing taxes when there is no real growth in the economy. But the situation is not limited to the Bahamas. China's exports decreased by 25% in February under the previous year and declined for the thirteenth consecutive month, indicating that that country is in recession. While unemployment figures in the US are at their lowest in 10 years, consumer confidence and consumer spending are also at extremely low levels. This is despite consumer prices and commodity prices also being at record lows. Gas and Oil prices especially. And prices are expected to go even lower as Iran starts selling oil and since there is an abundance of natural gas on the market. The biggest problem for the Bahamas should there be another worldwide recession is that very little recovery was made from 2008. The government is up to its eyebrows in debt, unemployment remains drastically high, many home owners have lost their homes or are in arrears on their mortgages and businesses, many are saddled with old debt, increasing taxes and zero profits. Food prices are incredible. Government did very little to stimulate the economy and their ability to borrow and pile on more debt is becoming beyond the ability to pay back.

We all know this is silly season. We just didn't expect some quarters to slide this low... In the gutter

@Space. It is not me that has egg on my face... Is it you ?

If the matter is before the courts then should the Tribune not have published the videos? And other evidence?

John says...

Obviously this story did not draw the shock and awe from the public that was expected. In fact the greatest shock seem to be that the story was published in the Tribune. And if the story was credible why do these three lil weezels IkalikI, banker and Voltaire make personal attacks on anyone that find the story incredible much less believable? What does weather you believe Peter Nygard hired hit men have to do with being PLP or FNM? Why does one have to paid blogger because they see so many holes in the story? Or be a stupid idiot and less than a rational human being? Or even have to have a chip implanted. Seems like those who defending this story are more dangerous and capable of killing than the two alleged gang men allegedly hired by Nygard. Pray for free speech and the right to exercise it in the Bahamas, amen.

John says...

Frankly it all sounds like bull$hit to me. And the average person on the street feels the same way. The Tribune has been bought...big time.

John says...

Some people who claim to be in fear for their lives then turning around and making (secret) videos with the gangsters who put them in fear. How gullible!
