So are we to assume that Well_mudda_take_sic is about to make a large donation towards the fight for breast cancer victims? A cash donation that exceeds the $4,000 that this event is expected to raise. Maybe he is not aware that it is not the cancer victims that are being dunked (wet T-shirts) but CEO's of participating companies and radio and media personalities. The 'Dunkin for Boobies" headliner/slogan may be a little offbeat and misleading, but the event is expected to be fun and fund raising.
Chicken drumsticks selling for 69 cents a pound. Leg quarters selling for 99 cents a pound. Many consumers have it ruff putting food on the table. So how do you convince them to pay $2.69 a pound for the Abaco bird?
When a person or group of people do not fear the consequences of taking a life there is little you can do. But you can try to deny them the opportunity to kill and/or you can make the penalty for murder more severe and the punishment more swift. Running away could mean you may eventually face an even worse situation.
There were 5 murders in the Bahamas in 1968, 22 in 1974, around 90 in 1980, 127 in 2012 and this country is about to record 151 murders this year (2015). We may point fingers at the prime minister, the minister of national security, the commissioner of police but the fact is we have a culture of murder in this country that should concern every single person in this country. Looking at the statistics, murder is increasing at an increasing rate. Society is becoming numb to the killings and young men believe the only way to settle the score is to take someone out. Based on the figures the murder count can easily hit 200 in five years. So what. You gonna do?
respect Perry as Prime Minister. Then when election time come its your time to continue to support Mr. Perry Christie or kick him to the curb. In the main time can we all just get along? one Bahamas still!
If the murder is confirmed at Fox Hill prison last night, this will push the monthly average murders up to 12.59 per month meaning that the total murder count this year is likely to be 151 as opposed to 149. With 91 days left in the year that averages out to a murder happening every 2.3 days. This is serious. Dead serious.
Basically the governmet represents what is going on in society and the community reflects the actions of government. So if your children could eat because dey is PLP and your neighbor cannot eat because he is FNM then therein lies a very serious problem. We all (Bahamians ) say we are Christians and Christ admonishers to "love one another just as Christ loved the church. Be Christ like and crime will disappear.
