Again Minnis seem to be a doctor on the wrong medication. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press requires that persons be responsible, honest and truthful about what they put in the publics ear or before its eyes about others, persons who hold public office especially. If Micheal Pintard knowingly told untruths about the PM then he has the right to defend his character from defamation. That is not suppression of free speech. Is it that unusual for persons to be detained by police and later released without charges being brought? If Pintard really wanted answers about this matter he would address his enquiries to the commissioner of police rather than make it a political issue. Freedom of speech does not give anyone the right to purposely plans maliciously malign someone.
The good thing is the giovernment of the Bahamas or the Bahamian people does not own this property so the owners will have to take every effort to make the project a success. Unlike when hotel corporations properties were leased and the operators ran up huge bills and left the island. Too bad after missing the Christmas and Easter holiday business this property is also going to miss the IAAF event and Junkanoo Carnival.
The way this economy is going many will soon have to move back into these abandoned buildings when they lose their current homes to banks because of unpaid mortgages. Before turning them into rubble government (police) should give owners the opportunity to board them up and secure them.
Hilary Clinton says the most important is not announcing her candidacy for president or even running for the post. The most important thing is having a vision and a plan and having the ability to carry out that plan once you are elected
This clearly sounds like a step into more darkness. So what happens when this cable gets damaged? It takes days sometimes to repair cables on land. A submarine cable will require a ship with special equipment. How long will it take for the ship to get here? If the plan would take two years to implement why can't BEC's existing plant be renovated and refurbished over a similar time frame? The cost of the submarine cable could probably purchase the first new, fuel efficient engine. What about distribution after the power gets her and proper billing and accounting for electricity. Is this another pie in the sky or a pipe dream?

Owning the property and having a stake in it is very different.
