The FNM will need to do more than go on witching hunts to become the next government of this Bahamas. Despite the shortcomings of the current government, no civil minded Bahamian wants to see them forced out of office to be replaced by another group that has no definitive plan or clear vision for the country. Next month marks the three year mark for the PLP and those who wish to become the government in 2017 for a part of it) must prove they are capable of doing a better job of it. Where there is no vision the people perish.

#political maturity : Perry Christie, Hubert Minnis, Branville McCartney, the commissioner of police, community and religious leaders coming together bin a closed workshop to decide the way forward on crime. Then expand the initiative into the wider community, politics excluded.

John says...

Whoever succeeds Christie in 2017 must be a strong, descisive and forceful. He should be a well seasoned leader and have a vision for the country. If a leader is chosen who is weak and appears to be fumbling and indecisive this will sink the country deeper into the doldrums and even into more crime and lawlessness

The earth is filled with violence and mayhem and the Bahamas is surely getting its share. But in the US seven people were shot in one incident during spring break in Florida. Police shot a man in Illinois right times in his back after he stopped the man for a broken tail light and he tried to run away. Fifteen policemen ambushed and murdered in Mexico. A father of seven had his electricity disconnected. He hooked up a generator in his kitchen and he and the seven children were found days later. All dead apparantly from carbon monoxide poisoning. The enemy appears to be winning but faith teaches that this too will pass.

Was Gray being arrogant or was he simply trying to say that when all the facts come out his actions will (be justified) stand. The country seems to be going to hell in a clothes basket socially. This is a time Bahamians need to stand united against the common enemies of murder crime and violence. Political nitpicking is ruling the fire of the enemy.

John says...

When we think only us in the Bahamas have it bad, the world has become filled with violence. seven people were shot on a beach in Panama City, Florida in one incident during spring break. Then there is the police in Illinois who shot a man who was running away from him eight times. Then there is the tradegy where a father of 7 was caught stealing electricity. After the power company shut him off he hooked up a generator. Nine days later the father and the seven children were found in the home. Dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. The earth is filled with violence and mayhem.

John says...

So now we promoting vigilante justice. Smt. How many murders happened just tonight? Some of these young men are being killed only because they renounce their gang membership. Many are jinxed into joing at a young age while still in school. When they eventually learn the facts about gang activity and how they operate they try to get out. But they have already taken the pledge.
