How many persons show up to the protest to make Alfred Gray resign. If Minnis don't start increasing his numbers the next election will be a "shoe in". For the PLP.

Many Bahamian businesses have not turned a profit in eight years . Only because the owners/shareholders continue to inject funds into these businesses that they are still open. Those that didn't have excess funds or whose funds dried up have closed. Banks are barely making any significant new loans. They have billions in deposits they don't want to risk lending out, so the persons who have large deposits are receiving little or no returns, whie the consumers who have loans are paying a premium for them.

The Great Depression lasted 12 years. Unemployment in the USA hit 25% and many businesses saw their sales fall off by 50%. A whole lot of banks were among many businesses that closed.

Wonder if the Tribune gonna reveal who the arresting officer was in this matter and what he is notorious for. Then people may understand why Gray saw the need to intervene. Or maybe we have to read it in the punch bowl.

John says...

Do your research and find out who the arresting officer was and why he was sent to the island. Also investigate his relationship to the island commissioner. frat what? Cover up

Let's wait and see Hal Taylor was not the only one who died mysteriously and it wasn't from a chokehold. Anyway Hilary Clinton is about to officially announce her candidacy for president. And guess what she says she wants above most things: a new relationship with the press!

Despite his shortcomings V Alfred Gray may have wittingly ((yes wittingly) saved a young man's life. As the details come out about the Mayaguana affair it may not be Gray running for cover with egg on his face but mothers and parents rushing to shield their children from the beastly animals we have in position of authority in this country. But let's wait! No use washing us dirty laundry in public if you dnt give it time to dry.

John says...

In light of what may come out in the Mayaguana saga is the leader of the official opposition now going to distance bhimself and his party from that matter? The arresting officer may be more notorious that the "convict"

The junior minister for national security says they have evidence that much of the crime, much that resembles warfare and terrorism, is a result of gang activity. He also said that police intelligence shows that gangs are steadily penetrating and permeating the population of New Providence in particular. Can the minister say if they have intelligence of any police officer being associated with any gang or involved in any gang activity. Secondly the district attorney for New York said they were successful in bring crime, including murder, to its lowest level in 10 years by disbanding twenty four gangs in the area. While most of the members of these gangs were between the ages of 17 and 24 the gang was almost always led by some notorious and dangerous criminal. Once this gang leader was taken off the streets and locked away for of fences like drug dealing, illegal weapons counterfeiting or extortion the gangs always fell apart. Can the minister say if gang leaders in this country are being tracked down in this fashion and taken off the streets in an effort to stem gang activity?
