Every time Paul Maynard opens his mouth you tend to wonder what next is going to happen at BEC or when is someone. This corporation is in dire straits and the country cannot continue with unreliable and insufficient power supply. These men need to put aside their egos, stop the name calling and the blame game then put pen to paper and come up with a viable energy plan for this country. Paul Maynard must come to the realization that gone are the days when his union members can use BEC as a cash cow. Leave that for government
Dump on fire, BEC current off, BAMSI scandal, the headliner for carnival end up being who was rejected and the Reynard wells scandal, no wonder they wants the lights not on
We have miles and miles of street lighting on each of the 35 major islands in the Bahamas. These can be converted to solar that can collect and feed the grid during the day and provide light at night. Likewise every home in the country should be encouraged to install a solar water heater and at least one security light that operates of solar. That way no one will be in darkness when BEC goes down (again)
This government has been in power for three years. Have you heard of any plans to resolve BEC's woes? There should be an effort to install at least one fuel efficient generator this year and have all others retro-fitted or replaced over the next five years. The savings from lower fuel cost and the savings from operating more fuel efficient equipment should make this possible. Consumes are growing weary of Leslie millers excuses and not knowing if BEC has short term medium and long term goals to eliminate its inefficiencies.
This government has demonstrated that no matter how well off you think you are they can disrupt your life with power cuts that can shut down the phone and internet service. They can or have allowed crime to escalate to a point where personal safety is a major concern for most residents and visitors, roads and other infrastructure has deteriorated to a point that it has increased the misery level and while they continue to cry about how bad the financial state of the country is and haunt you down for taxes and more taxes, you see evidence of wastage, corruption mismanagement nepotism cronyism and lack of planning and transparency every day. Say you love this government!
