The Chamber and Bahamian Merchants in every sector had better wake up and smell the reality roses of the present future trends in online shopping.Technology has made it possible for any Joe Blow or gran ma to sit in their homes or while mobile use their cell phones to order anything from anywhere around the world. Sectors such the local automobile retailers are now feeling the results as bahamians deal directly with foriegn exporters particually japan and bring in there cars at vastly reduce prices resulting in reduced volumes of sales for the local automobile retailers. The "show room effect" will continue to expand and move into other sectors of the economy. The advent and popularity of cryto- currencies .such as Bitcoin that is now being regulated in Japan and Hong-kong and accepted by some retailers there is going to be the death nail for many local retailers as its popularity reaches the Bahamas. Amazon it eating Wall Mart lunch. Online shopping is beginning to eat the traditional retailers lunch. Remenber folks in the 1990,s Bahamians knew nothing about texting because BTC did not offer it, while in Japan,Hong-Kong and Singapore, texting was childs play to the average citizen. Now that every one is texting, its just a matter of time before the crypto currencies are forced to be accepted here. If not Bitcoin the our own Bahamain version. My only advice to the local retailers is to Save some money and start making a decision on which cryto- currency ATM vendor you are going to buy your Cryto ATM machines from. . . .

The cost should not be a impediment to the rebuilding of Ragged Island. Take out your maps or google its position. Ragged Island is strategically located. in the south west Bahamas and we cant afford to leave an inch of its territory uninhabited .Public Private partnerships can complete the rebuilding of the IDB does not want to fund its redevelopment. Every inch of Bahamian land and sea should be protected from unscrupoulous poachers, drug smurglers foreign interest and illiegal immirgrants and what is not developed in a sustainable way musts be preserved for future generations. May i remind you readers that there are billions of people around the world who would gladly change places with you to come and live in this blessed gem on planet earth we call the Bahamas !

The illegal sloop landings would cease if Bahamians would step up to the plate and eliminate the need for the cheep labour they provide. Get up of their behinds and stop complaining that there are no jobs. The jobless rate is estiminated to be at 30% or higher and that says alot about our work ethic and the kind of work we want to do. I recently visited the commonwealth brewery bottle recycling center on east west highway and a large percentage of the employees there and most of the deliveries buy the truck loads of discarded beer bottles are made by haitians. It is written fact that commonwealth brewery has stated that they have reached over 50% in reclycling bottles and thats an amazing feat because it seams that Bahamians refuse to do this kind of work for various reasons the lease of which is Pride This is just one example of an area or type of work thats been monopolized by the Haitians .www.tribune242.com/news/2013/feb/20/brewery-recycling-over-50-of-bottles/

It is going to be imperative for Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and the various brands at Baha mar to tap into the growing chinese and far east afluent middle class and produce innovative travel packages and itinearies for those citizens to travel here.and stay at Baha mar. Boeing has forcasted that china will become the worlds first trillion dollar aviation market by purchasing over 6.810 new aircraft over the next 20 years. Travel packages should include stops to cities in the united states .to spice up the packages and entice more customers. With the united states economy booming and china's economy set to continue its rapid expansion and eventually surpassing the USA before 2030,the recent implementation of new travel visa policies by china should bode well for Baha mar and Atlantis does not have to cannabilized for the present tourist market and they both can co-exist and be profitable !

She is not an elected official. Let her go and work with the **Red cross or the aids secretariat.** She can fight and "push for those issues relating to women and children, from those offices which already exist.and at the same time take part in fund raising. Balance the national Budget then this may be considered..

Captain Cyril Roker, the Port Department's controller sure has a very lackadaisical view of a piece of iimportant infrastructure like the breakwater....typical public sector mentality. All the more reason why the goverment should privatize the cruise port and let APD and a reputable port operator manage and maintain the harbour.
