I am shocked by this article. The reporter interviewed a few people and came to the headline conclusion. I am even more shocked at the comments afterwards. What planet are you people from? How could people of colour still choose to be in bondage? Where is your sense of identity? Where is your sense of self-esteem? Where is your sense of true patriotism? Where is your sense of being truly independent? I hope that all of the remaining Caribbean countries remove the monarchy at the same time. Anything less is beyond ridiculous and amounts to a looser mentality. Removing the monarchy does not mean that we must leave the Commonwealth. It means that we are finally removing the last symbols of colonialism. We have done well as an independent country and will continue to do well as a Republic. Every country in the world including Great Britain has social and economical problems so that is a terrible excuse. To make the world mark the manner of our bearing then we must be truly independent. This is not the time for politics on this issue. Let's move - "Forward, Upward, Onward and Together. We have God on our side so have no fear.

I smell a rat. Why do we need a small start-up Jamaican financial service company getting money from our government to lend to Bahamians? Especially since that company is owned by the Jamaican Leader of Opposition and other Jamaican opposition politicians? Whatever happened to all of the other Bahamian local financial services companies? Also, why is Bahamas Mortgage Corporation being left out?

There is a simple solution to all of this: a blockchain land registry. It is the lawyers that are stopping it from happening. Half of them will be unemployed overnight. Land controversy is big business in The Bahamas. Implementing a land registry will be one of the biggest things to happen in this country since Independence. It would unleash economic potential like never before, especially in the Family Islands. It would even cause us to jump high on the Ease of Doing business list.

Wayne Munroe was against this so I guess this is the compromise they came up with. Let's be real, who is going to the Wulff Road station to use any kiosk. This is ridiculous.

What will be done with the money earned? Will it go in a Sovereign Wealth Fund or the Consolidated Fund?

Why would Arawak Homes want to meet at the site without the media? If things are being done right then they should want their side of the story to get out.

Here we go again. Stop, Review and Cancel. Instead of redoing everything just fix what needs to be fixed then move on.

It is useless to talk about these rankings without understanding how these rankings are determined and then outlining what needs to be done to reach higher scores. We need improvements in each of the Key Areas. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Fi…

I was waiting to read how he propose that prosperity is supposed to reach the people. I don't know why we allow people to say things in a vacuum without offering proposals.

What most don't realize is that labor is a factor of production and is normally one of the biggest expenses of a company. When labor goes up, so do prices and we are already one of the highest-priced nations in the world. This also means that we won't be able to diversify away from tourism and financial services because everything would be cheaper to import than produce locally.
