I know of a woman with two kids. She depends on her mother to take care of the children whilst she is out spinning and buying numbers all day everyday, like a job. She complains about no job, yet she's in the number house everyday. The woman wouldnt even say let me go buy my kids some clothes or shoes. She never has money to deal with her priorities but when you confront her about it, shes always on the offense like no body is suppose to say something to her about it. She wouldn't even say at least let me get a job in the number house, but she is too proud to do it and the operators wont let the employees gamble. She always has money to play numbers and spin, even some receipts have an excess of 20 to 50 dollars a day, all on the Island Luck account ready to spin. She wouldnt even say let me help out with bills let alone take care of my children. You see, these are the types of persons that these number houses are making a killing on. These persons live, eat, sleep, and dream numbers, hoping to win the next day. The habit itself is like a disease, and all infected is in denial that it is.
The problem with this whole thing first, is that it is an illegal business and they have done nothing about it, the government is playing a blind eye because of this 'job creation' idea, and the donation of money to campaigns from this 'crime syndicate' that is completely atrocious and a slap in the face for Bahamian law/constitution. They are also under the disguise of a 'web shop' that is really only suppose to allow access to internet. In fact, I cannot enter a webshop and access the internet for any other reason (email access, printing of documents) unless I am there to 'spin' or buy numbers because ill be kicked out if I'm not. This is a violation of the terms of their business agreement in the description of a 'web shop'. Drug dealers, marijuana salesman specifically, also create jobs for persons but they are under constant radar/threat of the police and this creates your next problem: Selective, discriminatory enforcement of law, which is very appalling for this nation. Secondly, when I was about to open my own web shop, the costly software infrastructure is set up where you can set your own personal odds for each game played, that is: you are able to control your losses and profits to the point that even though someone 'randomly wins', the winners and their winnings will not affect profits. When it comes to the 'numbers' area (buying numbers). These 'web shops' are illegally using copyrighted logos from legitimate U.S lottery's to give customers the impression that they are betting on legitimate numbers, yet this is true because these houses dont throw their own balls, but these same U.S lottery's don't even know that this is happening. Also if the government wants to regulate this effectively, they MUST be given 'unlimited' access to these software in each 'number house' in regard to profits, losses, payouts etc, and tax them accordingly. If the government just waits for a balance sheet from these businesses, I can guarantee there will be dishonesty about incomes and pay out's and the tax effort will have no effect on these businesses because one will not know what the real income is. I MUST stress that the implementation of gambling rehabilitation programs be mandatory for persons that have problems with this, and this must be first before any legalization of a 'bookie' and it must be readily available through these 'web shops' just like every other 'give away' advertisement that they conjure.

In this case: A GED is the American form of the GCSE, but Bahamians here are under the impression that the BGCSE is on a higher level than the GED, like some type of college degree. According to the uk naric (a British National Agency responsible for providing information, evaluation, advice and expert opinions on qualifications worldwide) both the GED and BGCSE are equivalent, they achieve the same goals, the only difference is one is American and the other British. I possess both, and I had to take similar exams for both but was told by many Bahamian Istitutions that the GED is not equivalent and thus I could not find jobs because I did not possess a BGCSE say in math and english at the time but I did have math, english with the GED. Our educational system needed a reform on this type of level years ago. How can you give a student a diploma but then tell them they are not qualified for work because they don't possess BGCSE's in particular areas? This is discouraging and can lead people away from education. This would also leave one to believe what is the actual value of the diploma if it is not accompanied by BGCSE's? In conclusion, Many Americans find it hard to relocate here for possible education in COB for example because they do not accept GED's which is what most Americans have and use to help get into college. We would like to see some clarification on this as well, because at the time when I was looking for jobs, I became frustrated that I was held back because I did not posses BGCSE's. When I took the GED, it was the same process involving exams just from a different country. So hopefully the standardized diploma can help current students waiting in school for graduation to be better prepared for life, education and jobs here, but Mr. Fitzgerald must also clarify this dilemma as well, because many are shunned away from education and those Bahamians who possess the GED are shunned away from jobs here because of this misconception of the BGCSE being of more value than the GED. I honestly believe it is this way here because many do not know what the GED technically is.
No citizen will ever know what is exactly happening in this country. We are continuously lied to in order to keep the 'peace' lol. The information on BEC will continue to be pinned up just like Mr. Davis' mouth when ever he tries to open it.
As we've seen time and time again, Both FNM and PLP have leaders, but no member is held accountable for infringing the agenda of their respective parties by their leaders. The only two persons I know that have done this, and the only two persons I know that each member will respect first, before any declaration is made is the Late Sir Lynden Pindling and Hubert Ingraham.
This old pot cake is too ratchet for sensible proceedings. PGC needs to carry a muzzle, pincher (training collar) and choker with him just in case things like this happen.
Not Duane, we dont need another egotistical person in charge of this country. Do you really want his miscalculation of open heart surgery to be caused by political pressure? He's doing fine where he is, this is not something that will be healthy for his career.
There is no way that the PLP will call a general election because they have plans for their next 3 years of good salaries, their pride alone will be their destruction. Minnis you better start shaking down your party, please vie for better fit candidates, Loretta is not ready to run or even help run this country, her emotions will cost us all.
Technically the referendum questions, despite a majority NO, will still have allowed them to operate illegally without being regulated. The question is now, why dont they tax the dope man for his 'illegal' operation? or the arms dealer for his? It seems that the government is very 'selective' and 'discriminate' on what they enforce. Illegal is illegal, plain and simple. These bosses should have been doing jail time a long time ago. It only breaks the citizen's heart to see such lawlessness get away scott-free.
