After observing several months worth of comments bashing the American response to the virus that originated in China, it is particularly interesting that the leader of a prominent Bahamanian political party is rumored to be seeking treatment in the United States. During my frequent travels to the Bahamas, I routinely hear how "bad" the health care system in America is, and how it does not compare to other countries in the world where "free" health care is available. That being said, I am informed that a sizable number of Bahamians routinely seek elective surgeries and other planned health care procedures in the US. It seems a bit ironic that a system that is so "bad" is highly sought after by many from not only the Bahamas, but from all over the world.
In the mean time, Bahamians continue to be receptive to the rampant inclusion of money and infrastructure from China. In my opinion, the virus that originated in China that has crippled the world and the Bahamas, is part of a larger effort by the Chinese political leadership to strengthen their position across the globe. In encourage each of us to take time and reflect on the virus, and it how has impacted every single country, changed our daily lives and impacted our loved ones.
Make no mistake, the responsibility for all of this misery lies at the hands of one country and its leadership.
