"In 1970, Guyana cut ties with the Queen as its head of state, followed by Trinidad and Tobago in 1976, and Dominica in 1978."

Hence the HUGE numbers of Bahamians applying for work/residence permits and marrying to get status in those three countries - LOL.

Maybe the Bahamas should wait until we can actually package and market the salt from Inagua right here in the Bahamas, and do the same with sugar. Why are we buying salt and sugar packaged abroad?

People who think we should get rid of the Queen do understand our Constitution. The PM is the leader of the majority party in the House, and gets to appoint the majority of Senators and gets to appoint (with the Queen's approval) the Governor General. He is a virtual dictator as we saw for several years preceding 1992. The only hope we have to not actually become a dictatorship is that some Governor General would actually stand up to him if he did something really crazy.

We've been talking about an elected Senator for years. Talking about Constitutional reform, talking about ..., and talking about.... Perhaps if the Bahamas wanted to have it's own "independent" talk show we could do that. We kinda good at talking - although severely limited by the libel laws (more than needed).

People wanting to remove the Monarchy have no idea what affects the price of bread in the food store.

On Is it time to dump the Queen?

Can't wait to get my new passport so I can travel nowhere. Like how he couldn't miss an opportunity to advertise the vaccine. Wonder if there was a cure for cancer if they would have to shove that down our throats also? People know when they smell a rat. If there was a cure for cancer and people found out about it, and saw their friends and relatives getting healed from it, you wouldn't have to spend one dollar advertising it - duh.

On PM officially opens Inagua Passport Office

Don't you believe that. They will be out there drilling and carting away our oil just like the aragonite ships are doing all the time. The official word is those aragonite ships don't exist. So now the oil drilling ship won't exist either. Ok, great. Of course the Defense Force can't go down there and ensure they are not there drilling, just like they can't go to the aragonite ships.
Just read the newspapers and believe they are all gone. All is safe now - LOL. Go back to the dominos game.

Amazingly there is no investigation or reporting on where are all of these people working. No cameras can go there between 6am-8am and follow the trucks that come to pick them up? No police can follow them?

Is there something illegal I can do to make money that the police won't follow me? Please let me know cause I need to make some money to buy food. I don't mind breaking the law if the police give me permission. I'm asking, how can I do it?

It's also hard to believe that nobody has a pic or video of the NGO symbols on any of those supplies. Really? We could catch the MP behind the church, but we can't get a pic of one piece of wood out in the open?

Slovakia has approved Ivermectin for early mid and late stage use for Covid. We will see that either they will have zero Covid by end of March or they will be invaded by Russia in order to put an end to it. Or their medical plants may mysteriously catch on fire like several have around the world so far.

I would suggest everyone do a news check on Slovakia once per week to see how it is going over there.

Tribanon is correct. Slovakia has just approved Ivermectin to fight Covid-19 in the early and late stages (all stages). It has been working for the past year in early stages and preventing even hospitalization. You would not know this by only following USA hysteria (otherwise known as news). Within 60 days there will be ZERO Covid in Slovakia and the rest of the world will follow (except for USA and UK who will deliberately continue on course due to financial benefits of hospital bills).
Knowing this, I'm sure the government will use Speaker Moultrie's move as an excuse to call an early election during which they can follow the most recent American model of keep observers 50 feet away from the ballot counts (yes fifty feet was what they did in Philly and Phoenix and Atlanta and others). It works wonders for the ruling party of a country to have observers who cannot observe.
We will see how it goes.

Why would we need to be "mindful" of our borders if we are all vaccinated? I keep hearing statements here and there that after being vaccinated even for a few months a person is still not immune to this disease. This seems to be the first vaccine in history that actually does not vaccinate people.
You would also be taking a serious risk with an unproven and untested vaccine/s. There has not been enough time to study these. It would be similar to following President Trump's sort-of suggestion to inject bleach into our veins - right?

I suspect that the Queen will have him removed because he is standing up for democracy. I have never felt that England wants true democracy here - that is why our Constitution does not allow a majority of MPs to choose a Prime Minister from among them. They are only allowed to choose a prime minister if they are members of the same party. So if we have 25 independents win in the next election - we may still have an FNM or PLP prime minister who has fewer than 20 members in the House.

Also, we have heard that the court case to remove the tracking numbers off of our election ballots worked its way all the way to England to the Privy Council who so far has refused to hear the case. It is suspected by some that the reason they refuse is because IF they rule that such a practice is non-democratic then they would be ruling on England as well which has the same ballot number tracking system. It would be an embarrassment.

This man Moultrie is standing up for freedom and democracy, and we all know that such things are simply not allowed in this day and age of communist rule. Look at what has happened to Hong Kong. There has been ZERO push back from the world community. No country has ordered that there be no flights or ships to and from there. The only little whimper we have heard is that UK has offered immigration status to certain Hong Kong persons who hold some kind of semi-UK passport. However none of them have actually moved to UK or gotten any status as yet. Another empty threat to feign care and concern.

I wish Mr. Moultrie the best of luck - because I would love to live in a free and fair country - but at the same time won't hold my breath.

Imagine the govt refusing an offer of free space to run the House from Baha Mar. They could have rebuilt the House during that temporary time. But yet - they have announced they wish to put us further in debt by "fixing up" airports all around this country. Contracts, contracts, contracts. You know the kind. The kind that we never see that are accompanied by invoices that we never see. Yeah, those kind.

On Halson Moultrie won't resign as Speaker

This is just another red herring to take the attention of the people off of the fact that government is now planning to sink us MORE in debt by borrowing money to improve airports all around the Bahamas - as if people are not going hungry in this country every day. We don't have any money to spend on airports except for very very very urgently needed repairs. Making airport pretty or more functional should wait. There ain't no tourists anyway.

Yes, they may come in the future - but let's cross that bridge when we come to it. Right now small businesses need help (real help not more debt from banks) so the people can work and the economy can move up. It is so very much like government to continue their borrowing bonanza - making things look pretty for early election - while the people suffer.

This is disgusting.

JokeyJack says...

Be careful now Tribanon - you're using your brain, and that's illegal.
