Jumping Jehoshaphat is this sitting government this out of touch, there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, there no no magic beans, no one is going to lend or finance unless there is a benefit to them, meanwhile we have a man looking as if he saw oncoming headlights as he open his eyes this morning. Bahamian there is a saying that is becoming very applicable daily, the light at the end of the tunnel, might be a bear with a lantern, sad sad state of affairs for the Bahamas
This will be the NORM for some time to come, the FNM and the PLP are not even remotely close to be in charge of any rebuilding plan, this will require outside professional help, billions of capital and no political grandstanding
Spot on the Bahamas is in need of a political remake the model since independence is flawed corrupt and tainted beyond words, I find it incredibly disturbing there are not better leaders in the wings
the need for cable/lines will still be needed, the myth of solar being the answer is just that a myth, it is extremely expensive, want to see the cost, look at the billions Ontario Canada has spent
This is incredible, why does this poor excuse of a government, either PLP or FNM feel to solve a problem, they either tax it or legislate it, the time is arrived for a new educated in governance type of government, not a rag tag assortment of lawyers accountant and doctors
The Bahamas is benefiting from the generosity of non Bahamians, so far they are they only ones who are actually delivering help, the best solution for the Bahamas government is to get out of the way, so far endless press conferences do nothing for those in desperate need, today there are no engineers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, masons, etc from the Bahamas waiting to take control, I can just imagine the circus when the actual rebuilding begins, and today no one knows of has a clue of that day
even when there is a cost associated with plastic bags, the issue is how one disposes of the plastic bag or single use food/drink containers, time to get Bahamians to dispose of them properly, then the environment will do what it does on it's own same for glass containers, not to mention derelict cars trucks appliances boats etc
