Finally, someone talking sense! Now what Bahamas needs is a prime minister who talks sense and a minister of finance who talks sense. Maybe next election, sigh!
It's hard to find words at how shocked and appalled I am. It appears this meeting is to organise some form of anti Venezuela alliance w Trump and his war hawks. Why are we not aligning w our caricom family for peace in our region instead of selling our souls and our sovereignty to this unabashed, white supremist, imperialist intent on world domination. As it goes in Venezuela today, the coup against the democratically elected government, so it will be in the Bahamas tomorrow... and the rest of our neighbors in the south. A photo op at Mar-a-Lago, Trump's private country club, and not even a diplomatic meeting in Washington...shame, shame, unspeakable shame. It's a decisive act placing the Bahamas as an actor on the wrong side of history.
Bahamas' shameful misleadership is again babbling statements spewed from Trump tower when half the Bahamian population has fled from misery and injustice in the homeland and the other half (except for the 242 bourgeoisie) is catching hell. Just saying...for a friend!
What if Joe Blow stood in Rawson square and announced that he was now Prime Minister of the Bahamas and had the full backing and support of the U.S... the U.S. bringing w it all its financial and military tactics of coercion for Bahamians to accept the U.S. backed unelected Joe Blow? Well, we don't have oil so I guess we're safe...for now!! I always suspected Minnis was following the Trump play book. This only confirms my suspicion. Bahamas has no right to interfere w the internal affairs of another nation. Nor has it the right to claim that elected officials of another country are illegitimate. Nor has the Bahamas any right to participate in a coup d'état.
What a relief, to hear that victims of victimization now have legal recourse. Another one of our own (that's right, a Bahamian) was fired here on Cat Island just yesterday. Thank you, Cat Island, for challenging this "undemocratic exercise."
