A full conversion to the USD would require the politicians to do something they have been unwilling to do up to this point - practise fiscal responsibility.

I am actually surprised NIB has $200K left to tief. As many “loans” as they are handing out to other government agencies, there is probably very little actual cash left.

The RBPF has been operating without real accountability for a long time. Past (and current) governments do not seem to be interested in bringing transparency and accountability to the police force, and by extension, the prison. These acts will continue and innocent people will suffer.

The least BEC/BPL can do is be honest in their PR statements. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience.” - is about as truthful as ____ (<- insert words here).

A much more appropriate and truthful press release would be: “We apologize for the 1000’s time but don’t really care about your inconvenience. We thank our customers, not that you have a choice of providers, for your patience and take this opportunity to remind you that your bill is past due.”

You are absolutely right. Only a working vaccine will fix that problem. However, keeping the virus under control in the meantime must be the top priority - without killing the economy with ineffective lockdowns. What good is a vaccine, when it comes, if the infection rate has already increased by orders of magnitude?
