Let me get this straight : the judge in the recent Tribune front page case was supposed to throw that man in prison purely because his wife said so? Complete and utter lunacy. Whatever happened to the presumption of innocence in the court of law? "He said, she said" is not good enough send anyone to prison for a day much less a possible decades long sentence. The lunatics are trying to take over the asylum.

Gorbachev is/was hated by most Russians and his reforms were complete failures that led to the economic pillaging of Russia by foreign entities during the 90s; he is so hated that rumour has it that they are not even going to give him a state funeral. Definitely not someone Brave will want to be compared with in the history books.

On Dorian: We haven’t done enough

It would be a great start just to keep the power on at this point. Not that I expect that to ever happen.

What we are witnessing is the slow burn collapse of Western civilization. Things will only get worse.

Same thing on Abaco. I can count at least three trenches on my road that Water & Sewage have dug up yet neglected to fill in. It is disgusting and slowly destroying people's vehicles.

Residents of other islands need to take note now : buy a shotgun w/ some shells for security, invest into a water cistern or holding tanks, get a generator that can supply power for your daily needs, and stock up food and any other required consumables for day to day life. Trust me, you are 100% on your own if your island is unfortunate enough to be struck by a Dorian. The government is not coming to save you.

Quite frankly, Nassau people could never survive what Abaco has been through after Dorian. It took a year and a half before my area even had running water. You will bathe out of a bucket or solar bag and have to use slop water to flush your toilets. Not to mention living in the hellish Bahamian summer heat without any fans or A/C. It was a real return to ye olden days for those of us who were here in the aftermath of Dorian.

We were neck deep in debt before Dorian ever struck, this silly idea of blaming Dorian for what 55 years of deficit spending has done to us needs to stop now. Unfortunately, Davis nor Pintard will ever own up for the failed fiscal policies pushed on us by the governments of both parties.

When are they going to start hanging these bastards? Why are we wasting our tax dollars feeding the people that do this?

Interesting how all of the blame is on the gun and not on the certain demographic that is always involved in these crimes.

> “We are very skittish about foreigners. We want them here. We want their money here, but we don’t really want them here.

These are two separate issues really (foreign investment vs migration). Foreign investment is great, but we absolutely do need to be mindful of who we are selling our land to and what kind of influence they will have on this country. Nygard, for example, was an international stain on the Bahamas that did much to bring back the "nation for sale" reputation that we are infamous for. Nothing wrong with vetting who is investing here (ie. buying control over the government).

When it comes to the migration issue, it really is not that hard to solve. Really all that needs to be asked is what citizenship did your parents hold? If they were Haitian, congratulations you are Haitian and have zero claim to any citizenship here. I don't know why so many people feel that someone is entitled to citizenship just because you happened to be born here, our laws do not work that way. The authors of the constitution really had their thinking caps on for that issue as it is the only thing stopping us from becoming Haiti 2.0 with all of these anchor babies; it is a crying shame that no government since then really has had the balls to enforce the law as it is written.
