Were they invited by the Bahamian Government? Or did they just choose from a list of former colonies to visit to get some sunshine? Barbados had the right idea: get rid of these self-serving royal blue bloods who contribute nothing other than catering to a nostalgic past.

Let's see. Seventeen thousand recipients of food aid. Not sure if those are heads of households (with more than one mouth to feed) or individuals. Assume individuals. The Minister is incredulous that "800 plus thousand dollars a week" is being spent on food aid. $800,000 divided by 17,000 is just $47.05 a week. Although the food aid recipients likely have other sources of funds, $47.05 does not seem like a lot. Am I missing something or maybe the Minister's weekly grocery bill is that low?!

To break up the tedium of these 24-hour lockdowns, there should be an online lottery where people can wager on what the Competent Authority will issue after business hours on any one Friday. The OPM (Office of the Prime Minister) appears to have issued an interesting one yesterday (Friday, August 14) that allows vendors at Potters Cay to open only to essential workers today (Saturday, August 15) between 8:00 AM and noon. I do hope the Potters Cay vendors and those essential workers got the memo! See: https://opm.gov.bs/emergency-powers-cov…
