Seven persons were arrested and detained for "Dangerous Drugs". Let's say that each person relates their horrendous Bahamian experience to some five people, plus, each. That is a potential of a lot of people who would be utterly turned off as far as going to the Bahamas. The Bahamas is ruled by political parties that gush their ersatz Christianity, thus attempting to shield themselves from scrutiny, while advocating positions that are utterly disembodied from the populace. When the Bahamas wishes to join the 21st Century, perhaps the country will elect YOUNG people who actually represent their constituents.
Why would anyone go to Grand Bahama when you can travel cross country (above 3000 mi.) USA, for half the fare of getting to Grand Bahama, half the price of traveling to Trinidad and Tobago, more than the travel cost to Europe, etc.? You get the picture. It simply is not financially worthwhile to go to Grand Bahama. Why isn't "The Government", dealing with the airlines to rectify this inequitable and untenable situation? Is is temerity perhaps, or a lack of interest and motivation? Why isn't South West going into Grand Bahama to offer some, possible serious competition? This is a non-meteriological hurricane in the making.
