When the license is granted, it will make future earnings legitimate but the money on hand now is undoubtedly the proceeds of a criminal enterprise. Unless the enabling legislation allowed an amnesty on that. And it would seem that our Central Bank is going to put those same proceeds into its vaults and send the USD back to the Feds, who seemingly will take it once it is laundered through the Bahamas Central Bank. Different strokes for different folks I guess. And those poor fools out at US Customs and Border Patrol still asking "how much money you taking on your trip". The entire anti-money-laundering project is dead now.

The People with the Black mentality that M. Thompson speaks of, should tell us all why the poor black people, living Over the Hill and in fact all over the Bahamas, still have to use outdoor 'sanitation' if you can call it that, and tote water from a communal government pump in order to bathe, cook and drink. Black people have run this country for nearly fifty years and spent its money on what it wants to, but the ghettos still exist, yea thrive, and not a damned soul notices, nor says "this is not right". What is NHI going to do for the poor black Bahamian who will still live in abject squalor, because nobody gives a damn about them, and only do projects where there is something to skim off the top.
M. Thompson is right on and has called a spade a spade.

Black people befuddle the devil out of me. Barrack Obama will not, even in the face of significant public opinion otherwise, deport, or even detain, one single "undocumented person" , (He won't call them illegal immigrants) and then we have the majority black Bahamian Government and Fred Mitchell in particular, that just lives to ship such people home. I would laugh my arse off if Obama's opening up of Cuba, to American Tourists, placed sufficient pressure on this countries economy that Bahamians had to swim to Cuba on rubber tires just to find a meager subsistence such as the Haitians do here. God don't like ugly at all.

And just what makes Economist think that we do know what we are doing ( as a country much less a government )
As my late Pa used to say, you could set your watch when certain things happen. Whenever any of the PLP hierarchy are in the news, you can count on Mitchell to shoot his mouth off even if it is just crap ! He's a lonely soul who feels left out easily.
