No! Fred Smith makes a lot more off the cuff remarks that do not correlate to the law. He claimed immigration officers cannot make arrests and applauded the young woman who fought with them to evade arrest. He praised judges for ignoring the rule of law in sentencing persons who harbour illegals. He justified his client running away from officers as acceptable. Fred Smith's comments are by far, more inciting than Munroe's and its directed at a people whose history involves violent revolutions and violent outbreaks to facilitate change. It would take a lot more than Wayne Munroe to push Bahamians to that level. I think everybody speaking out also knows that.

Ok. Sounded like you were trying to justify Pintard's asinine response to an asinine suggestion. Meanwhile, the other QC more directly incites Haitians to resist law enforcement and celebrates judges who disregard penalties that are now law for illegal enablers and not a peep from him. I guess Pintard has no faith in his people or maybe he does...

Michael Pintard has the talent to express himself better than most. He said what he wanted to say in politically correct terms, translation: "Bahamians are simpletons with a propensity for violence". He could have condemned Munroe without taking the stance that Bahamians might be agressive or violent toward Haitians as a result. Frustrated, unfriendly...yes. Targeting them with violence? He needs to sit down with that nonsense.

Really Mr. Pintard? If Bahamians can keep their cool while being threatened on national TV by a person of Haitian heritage, and the insults, inaccuracies and outright inflammatory remarks of Fred Smith and videos defaming Bahamians...I find the comment to be disingenuous and insulting. I hope the voting public takes note.

A Bahamian would not work for $5 an hour? More accurately,a Bahamian cannot work for $5 an hour because they are not living in a shanty town, splitting a $50 rent with 10 others, siphoning utilities or paying next to nothing for it. The wealthier Bahamians prefer cheap labour and circumventing their legal requirement to pay NI by taking advantage of the Haitians.

Economist is right, the government does need to follow the law, sign the deportation order and ship him out tomorrow and also arrest the family members for aiding his illegal entry.

If the QCs and/or so called activists are also incoherent and corrupt aren't they just adding to problem? Fred Smith's selective approach to the law is just as nonsensical as the politicians he accuses. And when he praises or condones behaviour that threaten and challenge law enforcement he reveals his true self.

Having no filter or common sense must be a requirement for QC because Fred Smith has made equally stupid, inflammatory remarks about the country and Bahamians. And in the process of doing so, he managed to make light of one of the greatest human tragedies in history.

No need to educate me on human rights...I understand the term, and I also understand that it applies equally to all humans, not just Haitians. Your rant is completely unnecessary based on my response to the lack of comments. Furthermore, you missed my point that Fred Smith intentionally l takes isolated incidents as the norm and is in my opinion, an alarmist. Also my opinion, not my interpretation of the law, there are more pressing issues to deal with than random illegals and alleged criminals. How many Bahamians in Fox that are still awaiting trial, detained unnecessarily that Fred Smith has taken to Amnesty International? You should save your human rights speech for him.

People are just fed up with Fred Smith that's why the lack of response. He is an alarmist who takes isolated situations to the world community as the norm in the Bahamas. There are many things for Bahamians to be concerned about. Illegal immigrant rights to trample on Bahamas is only a priority if you are unconcerned and/or unaffected by the more pressing issues.
