Successive governments have this jungle bunny attitude where they spend every penny like a child with extra money in his pocket who spends it all , and never ever think ahead and invest before infrastructure becomes decrepit and outdated. How often have we seen government buildings/police accommodation fall into disrepair when all they needed was paint and maintenance before wood rotted or roof's leaked. The same applies to electricity generation. Just think if all the VAT money squandered by the previous government had been used to update the power plant, which would have brought power costs down and in itself brought about a more dynamic economy.

Water is to cheap and yes there are those on really hard times but many of those not paying have an expensive car outside, cell phones and expensive clothes.

Mudda sic you are appropriately named. For that sick comment.

Not one teacher amongst them, once again who you know. What about volunteers. I know of volunteer ambulance drivers who have served in excess of 25 years yet ignored.

I thought him an arrogant bully but that comment is unwarranted as grief crosses all party lines.

So tell ud how much fed ex is paying in rent. The p.o. is a disgrace and always has been.Theft of magazines and periodicals by some staff and as for deivery times its a total joke. Leters bills sometimes 3 months late..

Proud loud you forget that yes the PLP implemented 7.5% but wasted evety penny and kept borrowing. The FNM is imposing taxes yes because they have little financial wiggle room with more and more demands. But it is about time that anybody involved with dodgy projects was named ,shamed and taken to court. Ovet 7 million was wasted in Palmetto Point for a non existant unafordable hospital and yet no one is made to acount for all the money. This is replicated over and over again all over the Bahamas. Yes we all should be suspicious as to exactly how our tax money is spent especially as that big black financial pit called the consolidated fund.

One reason is the stupidly high cost of nutritious food including fruit and vegetables and forcing families to seek out the cheapest food id it exists.

Firstly Davies has a cheek given that the PLP squandered all the VAT.Just look athe wasted money ob the Palmetto Point never to be built hospital. Or all the trips made by all parties . This proposed tax is unfair in that self enployed, and Hatiens, will not pay but salariwd workers will.. As for taxing soft drinks all that does is put up another living cost and will be passed along to tourists on already ridiculous prices.

OMG says...

The real problem is in implementation when you consider the number of Hatiens who contribute nothing to the economy but sure make use of the Government clinics. Then what about the workers Bahamian and foreign who do daily work on say construction sites or gardening?
