I love the banners on one of our local numbers shops. "everybody wins". What a blatant lie aimed at the most vunerable and deluded in our society. Maybe it should say "some people will win eventually".

So true ThisisOurs, there are so many churches with all sorts of new fangled names springing up daily and in competition with one another for how many AC units or trinkets they can display.
Church in many instances has become a business and well paying at that. As for promoting the Christian ideology so many of these church goers simply attend on a Sunday as a social event and who can dress better. And so many so called pastors etc are self taught or passed a postal course on "becoming a pastor" which makes a mockery of the sustained and comprehensive training that Catholic or Anglican priests have to go through.

As I understand it the fuel surcharge is related to market oil prices yet even having gone through the lowest oil prices in recent history the surcharge never seemed to reduce. On that note the customs duty on many many items including food have gone down yet recently on Eleuthera we have seen ridiculous increases on the cost of food items and not by mere cents either. Unless we have inspectors going around the shops and ensuring that the savings are passed onto customers , then I am pretty sure that any customs reductions will only go to line the pockets of the local merchants.

Someone knows a hell of a lot more than is being made public. How can a foreign entity deny legal access to Bahamian Ministry officials ?

1 million over three years is one hell of a lot of money and how come there is no contract for the public to see.? We have so many consultants and advisors doing exactly what. How exactly did that overpaid ancient Baltron Bethel benefit this country as one example?

Did our friend "MIller" ever pay his outstanding bill? While were at it, this fuel surcharge is beyond a joke and never seem to reflect world oil prices, that coupled with a higher rate being applied after 200Kw hrs. To burn less than 200 Kw a month is almost impossible so why is the consumer being charged more for what is effectively a better consumer/customer ?.

"back up of mail". What a joke even normally ,a snail could deliver mail quicker to the Family islands and that doesn't include magazines or periodicals that somehow go missing in Nassau.

Funny how in most countries, the small time drug dealer, thief , crook gets a long jail sentence without bail, yet the big time politicians, lawyers and white collar workers such as bankers never seem to get punished. Same even in a communist state like Russia.

And then came the drug trade, Normans Cay, George Smith and the sale of the Bahamas.
