Seem to remember that Perry kept promising and promising that the mew mega hotel was going to open and sort out all the problems and you still believe him when he says we have nothing to worry about re a downgrade. God help us all if you still believe anything he says.

This young man states such obvious and commonsense facts that another 5 or 6 like him in Government might save the country. Yet despite the looming reduction to Junk Bond status and the eventual devaluation there is no public outcry nor demonstrations. Mr Christie has lied and deceived the general public for too long and it is time to cut public sector jobs, wasteful hairbrained schemes, collect all taxes, reduce corruption and get rid of rehired persons collecting pensions and a salary but of course politicians primary goal is not to the public but to keeping themselves in office and by extension employed. Regards tourism all I have heard from tourists visiting is how beautiful the Bahamas is and how friendly the people are BUT how do you afford to live here. WE advertise duty free outside liquor stores when the same product including Kalik is cheaper in Florida. Of course there will be violence and theft when families cannot even afford the basics yet see people such a Fred Michelle jetting of on expense paid trips every few weeks. Time to realise that the Bahamas is in serious trouble and tourism is suffering in no small part because the cost of everything.

Christie is delusional and deceiving the public but whatever bull he spouts the IMF, Moodys and Standars and Poors are not fooled. These so called leaders are ruining this country and if they were to increase taxes again they would simply dream up new ways of spending it and not paying off the national debt.

Who does Halketis think he is fooling. Despite all the tax increases advertised and hidden the Government fails to stop boŕrowing, and herin lies the problem.Start by getting rid of the rehired and retired "consultants" then stop borrowing for all these spur of the moment ideas. Years ago at great expense a Florida company was hired to implement a modular system of technical education in High Schools. No follow up scheme drifted into oblivion.Fast forward to the system introduced a few years ago to standardize and computerize student school report cards. Again cancelled. Now our esteemed minister of education has borrowed another 5 million dollars for another scheme which will undoubtedly lead to lots of reports and paperwork but nothing of real value to teachers in classrooms with no lights, fans and leaking roofs . And guess what joe public is still paying for these failed ideas.

Whilst agreeing wholeheartedly bout the conditions is some schools I think it is grossly unfair to label all teachers "from the bottom of the barrel". I taught for 26 years in a workshop that rarely received supplies, no working fans, exposed electrical outlets and a leaking 30 year old roof. No money to repair the roof but now school has a great security booth with AC and toilets. All about show .How about Chemistry taught without ANY chemicals for over 20 years. How about the influx of Cuban teachers, who in many cases have trouble with the English language and are more intent on going back to Cuba with cell phones, tools and all manner of western goodies. How about technical departments that never receive modern equipment and infrastructure such as internet, interactive boards, white boards, lights. Rather than blame the teachers parents need to speak out about an education system that requires restructuring from the bottom up. Why are they teaching Spanish in primary schools when they arrive in High school barely able to write? Yes there are bad teachers like any profession but most teachers struggle in a system that is all show and where the majority of family island schools are ignored.

The no result is and unbelievable result showing ignorance and selfishness beyond reason. The paranoia stirred up by the pastors and no campaigners has succeeded in denying so many men women and children of their rights , unlike most other countries.
